Aiode March 26 product update

We’ve rolled out a new update in Aiode, focused on one thing: making it faster and smoother to
turn ideas into music. This release introduces smarter timeline behavior, user audio tracks,
improved waveform performance, and several workflow shortcuts that help you stay focused on
creating.

Aiode March 26 product update

Below is a breakdown of what’s new:

Faster Idea Sketching with 8-Bar Regions

Starting a new musical idea just got much quicker.

You can now double-click anywhere on a track in the timeline to instantly create an 8-bar region, giving you a ready-to-use section to begin working with. If there’s already a region nearby, the new one will automatically extend up to the next existing region, keeping everything neatly aligned without extra adjustments.

Previously, starting a new idea meant manually drawing regions before you could begin experimenting. While you can still freely draw regions with the Generate Mode, this update removes a repetitive step from the creative process. The result is a smoother workflow that lets you sketch ideas faster, try variations more easily, and focus on building your arrangement instead of managing the timeline.

User Audio Tracks

Aiode now supports Audio tracks, allowing you to bring your own recordings, samples, and stems directly into your project timeline and work with them alongside generated content.

With this update, you can:

  • Drag audio files straight onto the timeline, making it easy to drop in vocals, loops, samples, or recorded instruments.
  • Edit clips using built-in tools such as Cut, Duplicate, Trim, and Delete, giving you quick control over how your audio fits into the arrangement.
  • Add multiple Audio tracks (within limits based on your plan), making it possible to build layered projects with several audio elements.

This new functionality makes Aiode significantly more flexible. You can now blend music generated by Aiode with your own recordings, imported stems, or sound design elements, all within the same timeline. Whether you’re adding vocals to a generated composition, layering percussion, or experimenting with new textures, Audio tracks open the door to a much more complete production workflow inside Aiode.

Loop Area on the Timeline

To make editing and idea development easier, we’ve added a loop area directly on the timeline.

You can now:

  • Draw a loop region to define the section you want to repeat
  • Move and resize the loop area to quickly adjust the range you’re working on
  • Toggle looping instantly from either the timeline or the transport controls

This feature makes it much easier to concentrate on a specific part of your track without constantly restarting playback. By looping a selected section, you can refine melodies, tweak rhythms, test variations, or fine-tune edits while hearing the results in context.

Whether you’re polishing a short musical phrase, adjusting transitions between sections, or experimenting with different ideas in a looped segment, the new loop area helps you stay focused and iterate more quickly during the creative process.

New Waveform Engine

Behind the scenes, we’ve rebuilt the waveform rendering engine.

With the introduction of user audio tracks, the previous system started to slow down during heavy editing. The new waveform engine is significantly more robust, allowing waveforms to render more smoothly and accurately while you work.

The result is a timeline that feels more responsive even when your project becomes more complex.

New Keyboard Shortcuts

To keep your workflow fast and keyboard-driven, we’ve introduced several new shortcuts that make common actions quicker and more fluid while working on the timeline. Here is what’s new:

Track Management
  • Shift + T: Create a new Audio track
  • T: Open the new Track menu

These shortcuts allow you to quickly add or manage tracks without navigating through menus, helping you stay focused on building and arranging your project.

Queue New Take
  • Cmd / Ctrl + G: Toggle Queue New Take

This shortcut mirrors the behavior of the existing button, making it faster to enable or disable queued takes while generating or iterating through ideas.

Precision Editing
  • Cmd/Ctrl + Drag: Temporarily disable snapping

Holding the Command key while dragging lets you temporarily override snapping, giving you precise manual control when positioning regions on the timeline.

Together, these shortcuts streamline common actions and make editing, arranging, and generating music quicker and more efficient, helping you stay in the creative flow.

Faster Track Creation from the Timeline

Creating tracks is now even more intuitive.

You can double-click an empty track header or the area below existing tracks to open the New Track menu instantly. This allows you to add tracks without navigating away from the timeline.

Built for a Faster Creative Flow

This update is all about removing friction from the creative process. With faster region creation, user Audio support, improved waveform performance, and new workflow shortcuts, it’s easier than ever to move quickly from idea to arrangement.

We’re excited to see what you create with these improvements—and as always, more updates are on the way.
