    This Kettle takes just a little longer to bring the water to a full boil if needed as compared to a stove top kettle but, it does come with a heavier duty power cord which does not get hot like our previous free standing kettle. This is a good safety feature along with the auto cut-off. Sort of fun to see the water come up to the temperature need for the intended purpose like pre-heating the water for the coffee maker for a better brew or making warm water for the pets' feedings. The 1.8L capacity is equivalent to a full 12 cup carafe coffee pot.

    Update: After 10 weeks of use generally once a day, this product failed. It failed by not turning off automatically when the water boiled. This is a major safety hazard! We were lucky that we were present and able to pull the power plug to stop the runaway kettle twice. Then, to top that off, even though the T&Cs of the purchase say it has a one year warranty, the challenge is how to file a warranty claim to either Amazon or the manufacturer, AZEUS. The buyer gets in a loop of screens none of which allow the user to submit a claim for a replacement.
    For us, we are going back to the good old fashion metal whistler kettle on the stove top. Is safer and more reliable!
