    Fantastic blendable soft pastel with very vibrant colors unlike my Unison, Schmincke, Sennelier or Grumbacher. Excellent for fine detail lines. Most are 5 star light rated. Would have been 5 star but with several sticks broken due to their shipping. Wish now I'd bought the bigger set of 72. The shinny appearance is due to a plastic cover you will need to remove.

      I haven’t had a chance to use these yet. A classmate of mine showed them to me and mentioned the price she bought them at. I’m working on my last charcoal before moving to pastels. I asked my instructor about these and she gave me an “absolutely, yes, definitely, I approve of these pastels, they are very very good!”
      If I remember, I’ll post an update after I get to use them and compare to other brands.

      The pastels themselves were good but Amazon shipped it by slapping a label on the pastel box and shipping it with no outer box or any sort of protective padding so it arrived in a torn box with multiple pastels broken. Very disappointed. The pastels themselves are great though.

      These pastels are an excellent value. They are a "hard" soft pastel not much softer than Nupastels. To me, they are about the same firmness as Blick's in-house brand. The 48 pastel set has a nice selection of colors. Only negative is the plastic sleeve each pastel comes in had to be cut off with a knife - there was no way to just peel it off with your fingers. I think even professional artists would be happy with this set. I have a couple of Unison sticks and they are impressive (almost "buttery" in use) but expensive.
