- Reviewed in the United States on September 19, 2021Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseThis is a fantastic resource for integrating creativity into the classroom. Springboarding off of creativity godfather, E.Paul Torrance, Burnett and Schnapp organize and adapt Torrance's incubation model (TIM) and creativity skills in a modern way. This book is easy to use with lots of great ideas from different contributing teachers.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 8, 2021Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI was immediately able to use these strategies in my classroom!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 7, 2021Format: KindleEducators are always looking for ways to engage their students, bring the content to life, and do more in less time. While this may seem like an impossible aspiration - the 20 Lessons book shows us that it is possible to accomplish all that and more. I have both the books in the series and I find them to be a valuable resource I go back to again and again whenever I want to refresh a tired lesson or to create new lessons that have my students thinking and working with content in ways that really make a difference.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 8, 2021Format: KindleA great book to have in your resource library as teachers and administrators start another school year. Teaching people to think creatively to solve problems is a job skill every employer wants and needs. Bravo!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 23, 2021Format: KindleSuch an amazing resource! I’m always looking for new ways to weave creativity into my training/teaching and this doesn’t disappoint! A must have for those who understand the value of creative teaching.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 10, 2021Format: KindleCreativity underpins all our advances. When children leave school the ones that harness this skill are the ones that will rise to the top.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 8, 2021Format: KindleI have read a whole bunch of books about creativity, design, and education. It's helpful to hear real-world stories from an industry, but it can be hard to relate some of this stuff to a classroom environment. Yes, some books are specific to design thinking and creativity in education; and some of these are ok, but others can be a little dense and too academic. What makes 20 Lessons to Weave Creative Thinking so helpful is its easy-to-understand language that includes voices from the field. The summary of the Torrance Incubation Model helps ground the teachings in viable research (sometimes missing from similar books). Finally, the resource index provides an opportunity to seek out additional information and support when needed. Most importantly, I don't feel overwhelmed; this material feels like something I can apply without making massive changes to my curriculum.
