Meta plans to dismiss several hundred employees across its sales, recruiting, and Reality Labs divisions.
The workforce reduction will affect fewer than 1,000 global employees and is part of ongoing company restructurings, as Meta invests heavily in artificial intelligence. The Information and Bloomberg reported the layoffs, noting they impact staff in the U.S. and international markets.
Some impacted employees will receive offers for other roles or relocation opportunities to remain with the company, Bloomberg stated. A Meta spokesperson confirmed restructuring efforts, stating, “Where possible, we are finding other opportunities for employees whose positions may be impacted.”
This marks the second round of job cuts at Meta in 2026, following a 10% reduction in the Reality Labs staff in January. The January layoffs in the Reality Labs division affected approximately 1,000 employees out of a total 15,000, The New York Times reported.
Meta anticipates capital expenditures between $115 billion and $135 billion this year. The company employed nearly 79,000 people at the end of 2025.
