A Dog Story | Devpost

Inspiration

Economic inequality has been continually increasing within the United States. In fact, the U.S. has the highest level of income inequality of all G7 nations. Right now, about 1% of the world's population holds over half of the world's health. Therefore, we wanted to increase awareness and emphasize what each economic class has to go through.

What it does

Brownie the dog tries to avoid obstacles through different classes.

How I built it

Gamemaker Studio 2, Pixaki, Pico8, having lots of fun

Challenges I ran into

We cannot work on the project at the same time...committing to Github is a pain sometimes.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We finished the game!

What I learned

Dogs are cute.

Also, we learned how to use Gamemaker Studio 2 to create a functioning game.

I worked on a majority of the front end of our game. Drawing a majority of the backgrounds, sprites, and titles. I also set up the dialog scenes in our game.

I worked on most of the back-end for the game, combining all the elements in Game Maker Studio 2. I also created the animated sprites and the music and sound effects for the game.

I worked exclusively on the back-end and setting up the framework for the rest of the members to contribute to with ease. I went through Gamemaker Studio’s documentation to figure out how to best implement features.
