Inspiration
We wanted to build something for anime lovers, so we started looking for anime related APIs. To our surprise we found what we were exactly looking for. So we started to build a backend around the jikan my animelist API.
What it does
Our project AniMatch is a fun web app for anime lovers where they can maintain their watchlist. In order to make it more fun, we have tried to build a dating-app like experience where the user can swipe right to add an anime to watchlist, swipe left to ignore it & swipe up if they've already watched it.
Challenges we ran into & How we built it
Coming from the SQL & MongoDB world, trying to implement DataStax CQL was quite a task for us. Also the Tinder-like card thing too a lot of time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Tried to create an unconventional UI pattern.
- Tried CQL database for the first time.
What we learned
Time should be planned out for deployment as well.
