Inspiration
We randomly generated the idea on wolframcloud.com's hackathon project generator.
What it does
BluePlane is a website/game which allows players to collect planes which fly overhead their area. Using live data available on plane locations, BluePlane identifies planes that are nearby. Players can then collect these planes and use them in a turn-based combat game in order to gain Cloud Points.
How we built it
We used JavaScript, html, and css to try to use flight data and organize it into the website. We used Sketch to model the website.
Challenges we ran into
Since we were new at building a website using HTML/CSS and JS, we ran into more than a few issues with integrating APIs and parsing the necessary data.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of our robust UX as well as successful integration of the Google Maps and OpenSky APIs.
