Inspiration

The inspiration for Career Chemistry comes from the intuitive and engaging nature of dating apps. We wanted to bring this same simplicity and enjoyment to the job search process, creating a platform that connects students with their ideal internship matches seamlessly.

What it does

Career Chemistry simplifies the internship search process by incorporating the familiar swiping mechanism of dating apps. It allows students to effortlessly discover tailored opportunities that align with their skills and cultural preferences while providing recruiters with an efficient way to connect with well-matched candidates.

How we built it

We crafted the user interface and prototyped the user experience using the Figma App. This design-driven approach allowed us to visualize and refine the main concepts of Career Chemistry, ensuring a user-friendly and visually appealing platform. Using Javascript, node.js, and react.js, we brought the home page to reality.

Challenges we ran into

We were unable to get a lot of the code accomplished, and our vision for what we wanted to do ended up being a lot more complex that we initially thought.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of having a complete design set using Figma to illustrate our main concept. The culmination of our efforts is a visually cohesive and user-centric platform design that effectively communicates the essence of Career Chemistry.

What we learned

The process of designing and prototyping Career Chemistry taught us valuable lessons in balancing creativity with functionality. We learned to address challenges collaboratively and refine our design to deliver a product that meets both user needs and aesthetic standards.

What's next for Career Chemistry

After completing the website, we hope that Career Chemistry can become an app, enhancing accessibility, and bringing the concept to life for a broader audience. We aim to further refine and develop the platform based on user feedback, making it a transformative tool for both students and recruiters in the job search landscape.
