Inspiration

In our sophomore year of high school, we came back to our campus for the first time and finding all of our classes was very confusing and difficult. Paper maps are not an ideal answer, as they require you to carry them wherever you go. We thought this would be a great solution to a timeless problem: navigating a brand new school.

What it does

Once you enter your classes, this website will provide you with an interactive map that clearly highlights the locations of all of your classes, allowing you to quickly and efficiently travel to them.

How we built it

We built it in about 8 hours with vanilla HTML, CSS, and Javascript.

Challenges we ran into

We had significant challenges transferring inputted strings of data from one webpage to a set generalization on another webpage, which then triggered a function which called an animation that moved things to certain locations.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're very proud of the overall design of the website. We spent a lot of time making sure each element looked good, and formatting them to create great looking pages.

What we learned

We tried a lot of new things for this website, and learned a lot as a consequence, from UI design to new ways to search for items in a list.

What's next for Find My Class

One feature for Find My Class that we really wish we had enough time to implement is GPS compatibility. Not only would you be able to easily locate your class, you would also be told the quickest way to get there.
