Inspiration
Our project was inspired by the importance of high speed and reliable internet for the optimal customer experience. We were also inspired by the recent advancements of generative AI, which we used in our application.
What it does
Our project delivers intelligent responses to user inquiries to equip the user with smart product recommendations.
How we built it
- The API.md file was populated using company data and then fed into Samba's AI to output recommendations.
- Our website was designed using React, Next.js, and Tailwind CSS.
- We used logo images from Frontier's website to create an authentic look.
Challenges we ran into
The debugging process was a tricky and insightful process for us. Our biggest obstacle was understanding the correct commands for our IDE terminal in order for our program to function properly. This took a significant amount of trial and error and research to resolve.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are particularly proud of making our website from scratch using Next.js instead of from an online template. We also managed to implement our AI seamlessly into the backend of our website.
What we learned
- Correct data and sufficient amount of data is crucial for a help tool to function properly.
- Generative AI is invaluable for handling large amounts of data in a reasonable amount of time.
- Debugging is not a straightforward process and we should expect it to take up most of our work time.
- How to properly use GitHub.
What's next for FrontierAI Connect
The next steps for FrontierAI Connect is to expand our current functionality and look towards new functionalities. For expansion, we would like to make our website more interactive and informative for the user by adding pages and links. A new feature would be to track the frequency of each product recommended to the user (along with location, and user information) to give appropriate immediate recommendations/advertisements to the user.
