Inspiration
Recognizing the considerable population of elderly individuals relying on NJ Transit, many of whom may not have a strong familiarity with modern technology, it became evident that there was a pressing need to provide them with swift and seamless access to essential healthcare facilities.
What it does
The application provides a bus route with the corresponding clinics at each bus stop. It's a prototype for an application that provides the health clinics at every source from the origin and destination.
Challenges we ran into
One challenge that we ran into was extracting the data and then sending the data from the server to the client. We did not have any experience with the javascript backend before today, so it was a huge learning curve.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of extracting the location of the health clinics from from the google maps api and then getting them on the front end. We are also proud of providing the user with a beautiful interface where they visualize the health clinics.
What we learned
We learned to work with javascript objects and use the Google Maps API.
What's next for Heath Journey
In the future, our goal is to give users the ability to locate healthcare clinics that align with their specific source and destination choices. Furthermore, as we evolve we plan to extend this application's capabilities to encompass not only bus routes but also train routes, offering a comprehensive transit solution. Furthermore, we plan broaden our reach by expanding our solution to other transportation systems.
