Inspiration
When I was 5, I took apart my grandfather's big radio to find the voices speaking inside. Fifty years later, I found them. They are in my head. More importantly, I found someone external who makes sense of the noise from their arguments and helps me simply get up and take action instead of giving in to procrastination. His name is Eddy³.
Everyone knows this moment: You know what you should do. You're not doing it. You're scrolling instead.
Task apps don't work because the problem isn't information—it's execution. Dr. Russell Barkley's research shows: people don't fail because they don't know what to do. They fail because they don't DO it.
Eddie³ is the external system that forces the doing.
What it does
Eddie³ orchestrates two AI agents in a 3-round debate:
- MENI (Gemini) — Logic. The voice of responsibility.
- CHITI (GPT-4o) — Impulse. The voice of avoidance.
You watch them fight. You pick winners. Eddie³ analyzes your choices, rebalances the agents, and injects tactical directives to sharpen the debate.
After 3 rounds: Eddie³ delivers a verdict, makes a decision, and forces action—by auto-opening your camera if you hesitate.
Flow: Input conflict → 3-round debate → Vote → Eddie³ synthesizes → Camera opens → You act.
How we built it
- Gemini 3 Pro — Eddie³ (Orchestrator brain)
- Gemini 3 Flash — Meni (Logic agent)
- GPT-4o — Chiti (Impulse agent) — proving Gemini can orchestrate competitors
- Gemini 2.5 Flash — Banana (Victory comic generator)
- Gemini Live API — Camera supervision with AR task strips
- Tool Calls — Eddie³ invokes agents and controls their parameters dynamically
Key innovation: Tactical Directive System — Eddie³ doesn't just adjust temperature. After each vote, he analyzes WHY the winner won and tells the loser WHERE to attack next round.
Challenges we ran into
- Making debates feel real, not scripted
- Balancing agent personalities so neither dominates
- The "forced camera" feature—getting consent right (Grant Autonomy screen)
- Keeping Eddie³ assertive without being annoying
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Eddie³ actually works—the debates are sharp, the verdicts are accurate
- The Grant Autonomy flow—users consent, then Eddie³ takes control
- Tactical Directive injection makes debates evolve, not repeat
- Camera auto-opens and it's genuinely motivating (and slightly terrifying)
What we learned
- Orchestration > Prompting. Eddie³ isn't a prompt wrapper—he's a controller.
- GPT and Gemini can fight each other productively
- Forcing action beats suggesting action
- The line between "helpful AI" and "controlling AI" is exactly where productivity lives
What's next for Eddie³
- Voice body-doubling (Eddie³ stays on the line while you work)
- Wearable integration for continuous accountability
- Personal profiles that learn your avoidance patterns
- Victory Comics with deeper personalization based on debate history
