The JAMZ application is a unique social media platform for sharing music. On the app users are able to post their favorite songs, like/comment on their friends’ posts, as well as discover new music from others. JAMZ is ideal for people 16-35 years old who are avid social media users and love sharing music with their friends.
To use the application, the user downloads the app, creates an account and password, and signs on. Next the user clicks on the “plus music” icon on the bottom menu bar, which brings up the post bar. Then as they begin typing a song name into the post bar, a pop up menu will list options of songs in the iTunes database, and they select the song they want. The user can then add a caption, hashtag, or photo if they want and hit post. The post is then shown on the home screen. They are also able to see the song clip posts from their friends on the home screen. They can view their personal account by clicking on the user icon on the bottom menu bar. The account screen will only display the users posts. The bottom menu bar also has a line graph icon when clicked brings up the “Zbeats” screen. On this screen the user’s posted songs are recorded into a graph based its beats per minute and the time of day that they post the song. This allows the user to track the types of songs that they post throughout the day. It also allows the app to make song suggestions based on the users previous history and the time of day. There is also a search bar on the bottom menu bar, so they can look up songs and their friends. The search bar screen also displays the top tending songs on the app.
