The idea was conceived on a whim after attendance of an arduino hacktorial at UMD. Our target user is musicians who might not be able to bring their instruments with them, but need to rehearse riffs in their free time. The features that we are most proud of are that you can change keys a half step up or down at any time, and in each key, you can cycle through the different modes of that key! If you are unfamiliar with modes in music theory, they can be explained right here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mode_(music). This gives musicians the ability to improvise in a given key with no prior knowledge of music theory.
