Our project was born out of residential college pride. After being inspired by an animatronic Christmas Tree project online, we decided to built a mechanical version of our residential college's mascot as a way of also exploring the processing, arduino, voce, and opencv frameworks. After having successfully implemented features in all of them, we are most proud to exhibit a moose that tracks a viewer's face by orienting itself, checks the weather, and cracks (mostly) intentional jokes. We hope that our robot will be enjoyed by the students of Ezra Stiles, and that it will be an inspiration for future projects in robotics.
