Inspiration
56 % 0f LGB identifying individuals and 70% of trans/nonconforming individuals reported experiencing at least one act of discrimination by healthcare providers. This leads to higher negative health outcomes in LGBTQ populations. To help mitigate this problem, we wanted to help connect LGBTQ individuals to LGBTQ friendly health care providers who would understand their unique needs and provide adequate care.
What it does
MyHealthAllies facilitate crowdsourcing information on healthcare providers from LGBTQ+ individuals through a trusted network. The information will be used to identify LGBTQ friendly healthcare providers and allow access to healthcare without fear of discrimination.
How we built it
For this Hackathon we built a mock up using proto.io. In the future, our goal is to host the website on an actual domain.

Our goal is to reach out to large LGBTQ organizations across the country to launch our platform. We hope that this will create a large user base that will continue to grow and sustain itself.
