Inspiration

Work has changed permanently. We no longer operate in predictable office environments. We work from cafés, shared apartments, airports, coworking spaces, and living rooms. While our locations have become flexible, our privacy tools have not.

Too often, privacy is reactive. Someone walks behind you and you scramble to close tabs. A meeting starts unexpectedly and you rush to mute your microphone. A sensitive notification appears at the wrong moment.

That small moment of panic was the inspiration behind Privacy Shield. The idea was simple: what if privacy was not buried in software menus? What if it was physical, immediate, and intuitive?

Logitech’s Actions Ring presented the perfect opportunity to turn privacy into something tactile and controllable in real time.

What Privacy Shield Is?

Privacy Shield transforms the Logitech MX Master 4’s Action Ring into a physical privacy dial. With a single press, Privacy Mode activates. Rotating the ring adjusts protection levels from 1 to 5.

Each level progressively increases digital protection:

• Level 1: Mute microphone

• Level 2: Disable webcam

• Level 3: Blur sensitive applications and hide notifications

• Level 4: Blur workspace except active window and lock clipboard

• Level 5: Full Shield – screen blackout, disable mic and camera, optional system lock

Instead of reacting through menus, users control their digital exposure instantly through hardware.
