Inspiration
People make life-changing decisions every day without clarity — choosing careers, investments, learning paths or business directions. Most of these decisions are based on guesswork, trends or incomplete information.
We were inspired by a simple question:
What if people could simulate the outcome of their decisions before making them?
RealityOS AI was built to remove uncertainty and replace it with intelligent, AI-powered decision insight.
What it does
RealityOS AI is an intelligent decision simulation platform that helps users analyze and compare real-world choices before acting.
Users input a decision scenario with two options, and the system: Analyzes both options using AI Compares outcomes side-by-side Evaluates risk levels Generates a confidence score Recommends the best option Provides reasoning and actionable next steps Instead of asking AI vague questions, users receive structured, decision-focused insights that feel practical and actionable.
How I built it
RealityOS AI was built as a full-stack web application with a focus on simplicity, performance and real-world usability.
Frontend: HTML, CSS, JavaScript for a responsive and modern UI Backend: PHP with REST API architecture Database: MySQL for storing users and decision simulations AI Layer: Gemini API for intelligent decision analysis
I designed a structured prompt system to ensure the AI returns consistent, well-formatted JSON outputs, which are then parsed and displayed in a clean, visual dashboard.
The system was developed in phases:
- Core backend and database setup
- Decision input and API integration
- AI analysis engine
- Results visualization and comparison UI
- Final UI polish and optimization
Challenges I ran into
One of the biggest challenges was controlling the AI output.
By default, AI models return unstructured text, which is not ideal for a decision system. I had to carefully design prompts that force the AI to return structured JSON data for reliable parsing and display.
Another challenge was balancing simplicity with depth. I wanted the system to feel powerful, but also easy to use within seconds during a demo.
I also faced challenges in: Handling inconsistent AI responses Designing a clear and intuitive comparison UI Structuring meaningful risk and confidence metrics
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Successfully built a working decision simulation system, not just a chatbot Designed a clean and intuitive UI that makes complex analysis easy to understand Implemented structured AI responses for reliable output Created a system that feels like a real product, not a prototype Delivered a strong balance between innovation, usability and functionality
What I learned
How to structure AI prompts for consistent, usable outputs The importance of UX in making complex systems feel simple How to design systems that solve real problems, not just technical challenges The value of focusing on clarity and impact in a hackathon setting How to build fast while maintaining product quality
What's next for RealityOS AI
I see RealityOS AI evolving into a full decision intelligence platform.
Future improvements include: Multi-option decision comparison (more than 2 choices) Real-time data integration (market trends, salary data, financial insights) Personalized decision models based on user behavior Mobile application version Advanced analytics and historical decision tracking
My long-term vision is to make RealityOS AI the go-to system for smarter decision-making in everyday life, business and career growth.
