Inspiration

During these unprecedented times, a lot of businesses are dealing with hardships, struggling to stay afloat financially, especially small businesses such as clothing stores and boutiques. At the same time, there are people who would like to shop at these places but are unable to because they are concerned about their safety and the safety of loved ones. In a world where technology is at the forefront, there must be a simple way to make everyone’s shopping experience much more hands on while in the comfort of your own home.

What it does

This is where Virtushop comes in. Using AR technology, this app allows people to recreate their shopping experience while staying safe at home by bringing the store to you. Through the website, businesses can contact us in order to bring their stores to life through the app. They can then safely advertise and sell their products, while consumers/customers can enjoy the entire shopping experience and get a change from their day-to-day lives.

How we built it

The website we created for businesses to reach out to us was made using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Our app prototype was created using UI/UX design principles through Adobe XD.

Challenges we ran into

The only challenge we feel that we faced was the time restriction when filming the video, having to fit a lot of information in just 3 minutes proved to be a good challenge.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are very proud of our team as a whole for putting this project together as well as the creative products we produced such as our application prototype and the website.

What we learned

As a team we really learned to work together and manage different tasks in regard to the group’s skills and abilities. We efficiently delegated tasks and regrouped in order to catch each other up on our constant progress.

What's next for VirtuShop

For VirtuShop we expect a lot of future development especially with the ever changing technology that is being introduced to us every day and our groups high drive to continue learning and implementing it. We plan to constantly made product changes to meet the changing and growing demands of our customer base.
