Modern Illustration is a project by illustrator Zara Picken, featuring print artefacts from her extensive personal collection. Her aim is to preserve and document outstanding examples of mid-20th century commercial art, creating an accessible resource for understanding illustration history.

Made a few tweaks to my blog design:

  • Created a new earth tone color palette and added a unique background color for each post type: snaps, notes, and links.
  • Added post icon on left side of post. This is disabled on smaller screens.
  • Note and link posts will be text only. I want to reduce visual clutter as much as possible.

Working Through the Fear of Being Seen by Ashley Willis

Maybe I don’t need to be prolific. Maybe I don’t need to impress anyone. Maybe I just need to show up. Write what’s on my mind. Share the small things. Even if they’re messy. Even if they’re quiet. Because I know I’m not the only one who feels like this. I know I’m not the only one trying to find their way back to something they used to love. I know I’m not the only one wondering where their confidence went.

Macon has four legal graffiti walls in the alleys downtown. Anyone is free to paint on them as long as they respect the rules (posted next to the wall) and not paint anything inappropriate. I like to visit them often to see what's new.
