REGISTRATION OPEN: JUMBOHACK.ORG
JumboHack is a weekend-long hackathon hosted at Tufts University, bringing together coders, designers, innovators, and creators from all walks of life to turn new ideas into reality. Over 48 hours, you'll team up, learn new skills, and hack together projects of your liking. Whether you're crafting a game, building a web app, designing a mobile app, or experimenting with something entirely new, JumboHack is your space to dream big and create without any limits.
But that's not all!
- Attend workshops to learn new tools and techniques
- Meet new people (collaborate, network, and make new friends!)
- Hear from speakers and industry experts sharing insights
- Fuel your creativity with plenty of food and snack to keep you energized
- Enjoy performances and special presentations to relax and recharge
It’s a weekend filled with creativity, excitement, and community. Beginners and pros alike are welcome– no prior experience necessary. With mentorship, food, and activities, JumboHack is your chance to explore, innovate, and have fun!

Project Tracks
We have a few project tracks to guide your ideas and help make something awesome.
Emerging Tech: Step into the future with the newest technologies. Whether you're exploring new ML systems, blockchains, or the latest breakthroughs - this is your playground for innovation. Show us the next big thing!
Down the Rabbit Hole: A track designed for beginner participants. Teams only qualify for this track if 75% of team members have completed no further coursework beyond their introductory computer science course. Feel free to build whatever you like - we'll enjoy watching you dive down the rabbit hole!
Education: Inspire us with projects that make education more accessible, engaging, or effective. Whether you're building tools for students or educators, this is your very own opportunity to reimagine how we learn. Teach us something new - we can't wait to be your students!
Sustainability: For those who are passionate about building a greener future. Whether you're tackling climate change or rethinking energy solutions, this is your space to innovate. Build something impactful - the planet can (definitely) use your ideas!
Mad Hacker: Unleash your creativity and build something just for fun! This is our general theme that any project can fit into. Let your imagination run wild!
Requirements
Anything that your heart desires! JumboHack is an excellent opportunity to tackle a social issue, learn a new language, or explore a new type of technology. Whether you create a website, a chat server, an automation script, or something else, we’re excited to see what you bring to the table. If you’re a designer, you’re welcome to submit graphic designs and wireframes for the application of your dreams.
When you’re finished with your project and it’s time for judging, your team will submit your project under one of the following judging tracks:

What to Submit
Projects are to be submitted to DevPost, with one submission maximum per team. Feel free to submit all work associated with your project: code, documentation, design files, and more. With every submission, we require that you submit a README file, with the following information:
-
The Project: Include your team name, and 2 to 3 sentences describing the goal of your project. What were your goals, and what did you accomplish over the weekend?
-
The Team: Include the names of all your team members. For each, describe in a few words how they contributed to the project!
-
Acknowledgements: If your project uses major pieces of code from other sources— external libraries, other hackers, and ChatGPT— please cite them here! We’d love to give credit where credit’s due.
-
Optional Reflection: Because we love learning, tell us about what you learned this weekend!
-
What motivated your team to choose this project? Are there bigger ideas or features for the project that you’d want to implement in the future?
-
Tell us about a tricky bug, a design challenge, or that you encountered. How did your team tackle it together?
-
Tell us about one fun or interesting experience that you had with other hackers! Did you get coffee with new friends? Did you attend a workshop that inspired you? Did you meet someone new?
If you have questions about your submission, please talk to an organizer.
