Do you live, work, or visit an area in North Kansas City that poses any risks to pedestrian safety? If so, our group would be happy to help by conducting a walk audit, which identifies ways to improve our streets to help inform local officials. The North Kansas City Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Committee (NKC BPAC) is an ad-hoc committee dedicated toward improving active transportation in North Kansas City. As part of our work, our group conducts walk audits to make recommendations on improvements to city staff, as well as City Council. The areas reviewed during walk audits include: Sidewalks; Street crossings and intersections; Driver behavior; Transit; Lighting; Safety; Comfort; and Surrounding land use.
