Fish are moving south to keep up with climate change - Dr Barrett 3CR Radio Interview
As the oceans warm, marine life is on the move. In Australia, fish and other marine species are moving beyond their usual ranges to keep pace with climate change. What does that mean for marine ecosystems? To find out, we chat to Dr Barrett Wolfe from the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies at the University of Tasmania, who is tracking the movement of species.Read Dr Barrett's latest research here >>. You can also help monitor marine life movement by getting involved with Redmap or the Reef Life Survey.Image: Sea urchins are one of the species moving south. John Turnbull.

Seen something fishy lately? Fishers and divers help Redmap track marine life that are moving away from their usual homes as the marine climates change. You can log sightings and photos of marine species not usually found in your local seas at redmap.org.au or on teh Redmap app. The Redmap Australia Channel will gather video sightings of marine species on the move around Australia. We'll also add videos supported and produced by Redmap. Redmap Australia is hosted by the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies (IMAS) at the University of Tasmania. Redmap Australia is a huge collaborative project with many funders, hosts and supporters around Australia: for more information see the links below or go to to www.redmap.org.au/about.
