More than 106,000+ phones have been onboarded. Users have executed over 343 million transactions on the Acurast testnet across 35,000 secure compute deployments, and the community now includes more than 50,000 active members.

Acurast is not just any other project; it’s built by the people, for the people and represents a significant step forward in the Web3 ecosystem as its use cases extend far beyond Web3 builders; they also apply to compute in the AI-era., This shows that Acurast is not only relevant today but actively shapes the future.

On-Demand Omnichain Oracle

Acurast’s roots lie in the oracle space, bringing verifiable off-chain data on-chain, as Acurast has evolved into a real, decentralized compute network. Acelon was spun off, with the focus to bring on-demand data on-chain for any blockchain project.

The Acelon leverages all the advantages of Acurast’s decentralized compute power by utilizing Acurast to fetch, process, and verify data in real-time, e.g., cryptocurrency prices, without relying on any centralized systems. Acurast connects to a network of secure phones that handle off-chain computations, sign the results with cryptographic proofs, and make the data ready for on-chain use at the point of the user’s transaction.

This setup enables Acelon to deliver trusted, multi-source data feeds that are aggregated and verified in a trust-minimized way.

VibeCode and Deploy: Create and Deploy Instantly with Acurast

Acurast is changing how people build for the web with VibeCode and Deploy. Anyone can generate and publish websites or games just by writing a simple prompt. No setup. No coding. No technical barriers.

You describe your idea, and Acurast’s AI turns it into a clean, responsive website, deployed immediately on Acurast’s global, decentralized compute network, making it available everywhere from the start. No need for central servers or complicated hosting setups.

Want to create a game instead? You can do that too. Whether it’s a fun mini-game or a small simulation, Acurast generates it and deploys it live within seconds. Everything runs on its global network, powered by regular smartphones, making it accessible to anyone, anywhere.

By eliminating the need for technical skills or infrastructure, Acurast enables individuals to launch ideas quickly, reach a global audience, and remain independent of centralized platforms.

Vibe Code it. Deploy it. That is the new normal with Acurast.

Automate Wrapping and Unwrapping: Making Bitcoin Truly Cross-Chain

Acurast plays a crucial role in facilitating the secure transfer of Bitcoin across various blockchains. Through its automated infrastructure, it eliminates the need for manual approvals when wrapping or unwrapping Bitcoin, for example, into xcBTC — a cross-chain version of BTC that operates on Tezos, Ethereum, Etherlink, and other networks.

Instead of relying on slow, centralized intermediaries, xcBTC uses Acurast’s decentralized network of smartphones to automate these actions safely and efficiently, ensuring an automated process that allows users to convert their BTC into xcBTC or back again to BTC. By building on Acurast, the process becomes completely confidential, faster, and completely decentralized.

With support from trusted institutions and hardware-based security, xcBTC makes Bitcoin truly usable across ecosystems while keeping everything compliant and tamper-proof to make cross-chain Bitcoin transfers smoother than ever.

Enabling Ethical Web Scraping: How Acurast Powers the Next Residential Proxies

A residential proxy provider committed to ethical standards needed a way to scale its network without compromising on transparency or user trust. That’s where Acurast stepped in. By tapping into Acurast’s decentralized network of opt-in smartphones, the provider started to expand its IP coverage drastically while staying fully compliant with GDPR and other privacy regulations.

Acurast ensures that each phone runs these workloads securely within its Trusted Execution Environment (TEE), providing a confidential compute environment. Users contribute their bandwidth, and in return, these providers gain access to real, ethically sourced, and diverse IPs across the globe.

This partnership sets a new standard for the proxy space. With Acurast’s decentralized confidential compute infrastructure, these partners can grow responsibly while demonstrating that scale and ethics are not mutually exclusive.

Conclusion: Built for Today, Ready for What’s Next

Acurast already supports live oracles, instant site creation, cross-chain Bitcoin, ethical proxies, and much more. These examples show it is a working engine by running secure workloads on everyday phones within Trusted Execution Environments, which opens up new paths for both Web3 and traditional sectors.

Got a spare phone?

Join thousands of contributors powering a new wave of decentralized infrastructure — where anyone, anywhere, can participate and earn.

Visit www.acurast.com to learn more.

Website | Twitter | Discord | Telegram | Documentation | Reddit

100K Phones, One Global Network — Acurast Redefines Decentralized Compute

Zug, Switzerland — July 16, 2025 — Acurast has reached a major milestone: over 100,000 smartphones are now powering the world’s most decentralized compute network. In just the past couple of months, the number of onboarded devices has doubled — up from 50,000 on March 25 to 100,000 today.

This growth — including a spike of 8,000 phones in a single day — shows that the decentralized physical infrastructure movement (DePIN) isn’t slowing down. It’s scaling fast, securely, and globally. Acurast has now handled more than 300 million transactions and completed over 25,000 secure compute deployments.

“We saw a major surge in adoption after the CoinList sale was oversubscribed, raising $5.4 million,” says Alessandro De Carli, Co-Founder of Acurast.
“That showed us how much belief there is in this vision — and when we launched Vibe Code and Deploy shortly after, it became clear to many what this network is really capable of.”

Rethinking Compute from the ground up

Most people associate “the cloud” with corporate servers and centralized data centers. Acurast flips that script by transforming everyday smartphones — even old or damaged ones — into secure compute nodes. Thanks to built-in hardware security modules (HSMs) and their respective TEEs, these phones can handle sensitive workloads with verifiability and confidentiality.

There’s no technical barrier. No upfront cost. Anyone can contribute.

“When we started Acurast, our idea was simple: don’t rebuild the cloud from scratch — activate what already exists. Phones. Billions of them,” says De Carli. “It’s sustainable, accessible, and radically inclusive.”

More than a milestone, it’s a growing movement

The 100,000-device milestone signals more than just scale. It’s evidence of a shift: from centralized platforms to people-powered infrastructure.

A recent breakthrough came with the launch of Vibe Code and Deploy. Users can generate websites or games using a single prompt and deploy them instantly across Acurast’s network. No hosting, no setup, no friction. This made the promise of decentralized compute real, not just for developers, but for creators everywhere.

“Decentralization goes far beyond tokens — it’s fundamentally about who controls the world’s computing infrastructure,” says Alessandro De Carli, Co-Founder of Acurast.

“We already see significant clusters emerging across Europe and the Americas. Now, our next goal is to reach 250,000 phones, significantly expanding clusters in Asia and Africa. Currently, Acurast has devices active in more than 130 countries, and we’re well on our way to achieving representation in all 195 countries worldwide. This growth is real, tangible, and happening right now — not in centralized data centers, but quietly and steadily within homes, schools, and local communities everywhere.”

New to Acurast? Start here

Watch the 2-minute explainer to understand how Acurast turns ordinary phones into the most distributed compute network on earth: Watch the video

Join the network

If you have a spare phone, you can be part of the infrastructure shift — and earn for contributing to it. For a decentralized compute, every phone matters!

Start here: www.acurast.com/processor

Acurast is not just a protocol. The demo proceeded as follows:

Wasm bundle streaming: A JavaScript bundle which embeds Linera’s WebAssembly module was pushed to an attested Acurast device.

Runtime initialization: The device executed the Linera runtime, connected to the Linera Babbage testnet faucet, and created a new wallet.

Microchain instantiation: Using that wallet, the client claimed a fresh microchain and logged its chain ID to the console, successfully completing the entire flow.

Under the hood, the Linera client is itself a Wasm module that dynamically loads and runs other Wasm modules, and it uses Web Worker APIs to spawn background threads and share memory between them. All of this executes unchanged in Acurast’s secure, sandboxed runtime. Moreover, the client runs a full, sparse Linera node on-device, including local state management and on-chain contract execution, instead of merely proxying RPC calls to an external service.

For Linera’s founder, Mathieu Baudet, this work confirms Linera’s edge readiness and Acurast’s versatility:

“This opens many possibilities such as running Linera block producers and (later) Linera auditors in Acurast.”

We’re pleased to share this demonstration of seamless integration between Linera’s microchain architecture and Acurast’s secure, sandboxed edge fleet. This demonstrates the versatility of Acurast and its perfect fit for Web3 applications. The GitHub repository of the demo can be found here: https://github.com/linera-io/acurast-demo. Further updates will follow as we continue to explore and document this collaboration.

About Linera

Linera was founded with the vision of empowering users through globally accessible, decentralized infrastructure that facilitates real-time interactions between clients, chains, and services. Its novel architecture lets users interact directly with small chains of blocks, called microchains, allowing applications to read and write on-chain data with strong guarantees of performance and security. Our goal? To run thousands of Linera’s programmable microchains at the edge — across thousands of Acurast devices — harnessing Linera’s modularity and massive scalability alongside Acurast’s unique execution environment.

Why Acurast + Linera Makes Perfect Sense

WASM-First, Rust-Powered Logic

- Linera microchains are written in Rust and compiled into lightweight WebAssembly modules.

- Acurast processors run Node.js with WASM support, making deployment of Linera microchains seamless.

Massive Horizontal Scaling

- Linera’s architecture scales by spinning up microchains. All microchains are validated by the same validators and have the same level of finality — allowing Linera applications to distribute computations across chains easily, without security tradeoffs.

- Acurast’s network already comprises tens of thousands of devices- attested by Apple and Google for their secure environments — ready to run individual Linera clients operating their own microchains to interact with Linera users and other devices.

Secure, Sandboxed Execution

- WebAssembly enforces strong sandboxing, isolating each microchain’s state and logic.

- Acurast’s execution environment adds a layer of Linux namespace isolation, ensuring microchains run securely and tamper-proof.

Community-based Auditing in Linera

- To increase decentralization and resilience, Linera’s whitepaper outlines a long-term vision in which community members actively audit blocks certified by validators — allowing everyday users to participate in the protocol’s security and earn rewards — with minimal hardware requirements.
- Acurast’s decentralized compute network offers an ideal foundation to bring this vision to life. By enabling users to securely run auditing software on their personal devices — such as smartphones equipped with trusted execution environments — Acurast lowers the barrier to entry for becoming a Linera auditor and helps scale the network’s resilience through broad, distributed participation.

Predictable, Fee-Free Edge Computation

- Linera’s model — where one microchain pushes data to others — is ideal for DePIN workloads like sensor aggregation or price oracles.

- Acurast’s experience in developing modular services — such as oracles, bridges, and crawlers — on its DePIN network aligns perfectly with Linera’s architecture.

Looking Ahead

By combining Linera’s microchain paradigm with Acurast’s decentralized compute layer, we can pioneer new classes of edge-native blockchain applications — without a single VM or Kubernetes cluster in sight. We look forward to co-designing this proof-of-concept and sharing our learnings with both communities.

Stay tuned for updates as we explore the edge in the microchain blockspace!

About Linera

Linera was founded with the vision of empowering users through globally accessible, decentralized infrastructure that facilitates real-time interactions between clients, chains, and services.
