BitExpress is a DApp built on the DCC blockchain to provide distributed payment services for users around the world. Over the past few months, it has been building out its payment portal, The BitExpress Payment Gateway, to serve the global marketplace.

The Payment Gateway allows merchants to accept fiat payment in any currency. Merchants create a portal for customers with the payment summary, amount, and types of currencies accepted, along with a QR code to enable scanning and payment. OTC partners exchange the customer’s fiat money into USDT stablecoin which is deposited back to the merchant’s wallet. This way payment can be accepted from users from any part of the world.

Currently, BitExpress is active in the China and Vietnam markets and hopes to expand into other territories toward the end of the year and heading into 2020. Now, users can benefit from the automatic Chinese yuan settlement service for transactions in digital currencies.

As part of its ongoing mission to best serve underserved financial markets, DCC is shifting all operations to Southeast Asia. The DCC token will be traded on decentralized exchanges, moving forward.

  • The BitExpress Payment Gateway, a blockchain-based platform for payment collection and management, is up and running! Merchant users can set up payment details including summary, amount and currency, and then BitExpress will generate a QR code for customers to scan and pay. This platform automatically exchanges fiat currencies from customers to stablecoins selected by merchant users, and stores the assets in the merchants’ wallets. See more details on its website.
  • The latest version of BitExpress is now available in the Appstore. With an optimized payment confirmation process, this version can confirm fiat currency payments within 15 seconds. See details here.

Study: Over 74% of Bitcoin Mining is Powered by Renewable Energy

Cryptocurrency investment products and research firm CoinShares estimates that 74.1% of bitcoin (BTC) mining is powered by renewable energy in its bi-annual mining report published on June 5.

The report also claims that “at current prices, the average miner is highly profitable, with even older gear and high-cost producers currently able to make positive ROI.” The paper also notes that bitcoin mining operations are concentrated where there is ample renewable energy supply.

Secondary Markets and Blockchain Event in NYC

On May 22, we attended Bridging the Gap between Secondary Markets and Blockchain, a dynamic event co-hosted by BINC and Fintech Connector at the Microsoft Flagship store in New York City, featuring a fireside chat with Harumi Urata Thompson, CFA PMP, CEO and Founder at HUT Consulting and Mike Rogers, CPA, Founder of Millennials in Blockchain It was a riveting discussion about how the secondary market interacts with the blockchain and crypto industry including its infrastructure, institutional participation, eligible investors, as well as regulatory issues in different countries. The panelists also discussed the challenges arising from investments in cryptocurrencies and held a short Q&A afterwards that covered how to file taxes as a crypto investor, STO’s, IEOs and the ongoing debate about what is a security and what is not.

  • BitExpress has launched its payment network for merchants around the world! Based on the details set by the merchant user (payment summary, amount, currency, expiration date etc), the platform can generate QR codes for customers to scan and pay with their local fiat currency. One of our trusted exchange partners will then convert the money to the merchant’s preferred digital currency and send to the merchant’s wallet. It’s as simple as that!

  • BitExpress version 4.2 is now online! This version has made it easier for merchants to connect their payment systems to BitExpress. Merchant users can manage orders on the app or web version.

AT&T Accepts Bill Payments in Crypto

AT&T now accepts cryptocurrency for online phone bill payments. Users can choose the BitPay option at MyAT&T and cover their bills with bitcoin instead of conventional funds. However, customers cannot use this option for in-store purchases.

  • BitExpress V4.1 is now available! This version includes an updated custody wallet, which now supports USDT accounts based on the ETH network.
  • Merchants can now use BitExpress Open API to connect their payment systems and charge digital currencies. In the future, merchants will be able to pay handling fees with DCC tokens.

JPMorgan Quietly Reboots the Blockchain Behind Its JPM Coin Cryptocurrency

JPMorgan’s technology teams (spread across three continents) have been busy updating the bank’s Quorum blockchain platform over the past six months, replacing key parts of its privacy-enhancing components.

Like the firm’s recently announced partnership with Microsoft Azure, the updates were meant to make Quorum usable by a larger universe of firms.

According to JPMorgan Quorum lead Oli Harris, the Microsoft partnership is also a potential stepping stone to a long-contemplated spin-out of the open source software project.

On April 10, our U.S. team joined BINC (Blockchain Innovation and Networking Club) in hosting an event in New York City, New Technologies in Enterprise Blockchain: The Cloud, AI, Apps & Tokens. We had an insightful evening of conversation and networking, with guests and speakers from Wattum, Fusemachines, and Bitcoin Diamond sharing their views on the application of enterprise blockchain, cloud mining, AI, apps and many other methods that make today’s companies more efficient.

DCC Meets with Vietnamese Experts to Learn How ETH Blockchain Works

On April 17, DCC Vietnam attended an Ethereum Hanoi Meetup with blockchain experts, investors and enthusiasts across the country.

Chinese Internet Court Employs AI and Blockchain to Render Judgement

At the 2019 Forum on China Intellectual Property Protection, Zhang Wen, President of the Beijing Internet Court, said that the court employs technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain to render judgement. Particularly, he noted that the court had deployed blockchain in 58 cases to collect and provide evidence.

Since it was first established in September 2018, the Beijing Internet Court has processed 14,904 cases.In September of last year, China’s Supreme Court ruled that evidence authenticated with blockchain technology is binding in legal disputes.
