How to Add your Own Custom Watermark

If you’re a business wanting to promote your brand, sometimes all you need is a little extra “pizzazz” to get your message out

Luckily, here at Make A GIF, we’re big fans of effective subtle marketing over the flashy stuff

Which is why our custom watermark feature allows you to upload your own and feature it in your GIF of art!

Here’s how :

Step 1 :

Log in with your premium account
Head over to the top right corner where your profile is, click the drop down menu and select “Settings”

Step 2:

Once you’re there, head over to “Profile” and scroll down to “Watermark”

Upload your chosen watermark and select “Save Settings”

Step 3:

After updating your settings, head over to the file you’d like to convert.
For this example, we’re going to use good ol’ Youtube to GIF Converter
Once it’s uploaded, select the Quality Format you want (example : “HD”) select “Uploaded Watermark” , then “Create GIF”

Once the magic happens, you can feast your eyes on your very own customized watermark!

Download it as an MP4/GIF and you’re good to go sharing your majestic creation with your clients 🙌

Hilariously Bad Movie & TV Special Effects GIFs!

These hilariously bad special effects GIFs from movie and TV will make you literally LOL for sure, and best of all you don’t have to sit through some of these turkeys (though there are some solid winners in there with a few regrettable scenes) just to giggle at these funny visual effects.

STAR TREK UNICORN LION DOG

Star Trek is a classic, but do you remember when they put a plastic horn on a puppy to pass it off as exotic space alien beast?

PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE

Plan 9 From Outer Space is sometimes known as the worst movie ever made and is a classic example of “so bad it’s good”. It’s hubcap UFOs on strings are infamous and this is a scene of the aliens being defeated and their craft attacked, hence the flaming hubcap.

THE FUGITIVE

1993’s The Fugitive was a tent-pole action flick with a budget of 44 million (which is more than 73 million in today’s money) and hosts an impressive number of explosive and thrilling set pieces. However, they skipped on their dummy budget for this scene where the hero leaps into the waters.

Troll 2

The schlocky 1980s’ horror flick Troll 2 is often mentioned in the same breath as Plan 9 as a contender for worst ever, in fact, there’s even a whole documentary about this one production called Best Worst Movie. Shot in Utah by an Italian director and crew who spoke no English with a cast who spoke no Italian the entire film is one bad special effect after another.

Jaws the Revenge

The original Jaws keeps the killer shark off screen for much of the movie to ramp up the suspense. One of the many poor sequels, Jaws the Revenge, didn’t learn this lesson and their ludicrous shark prop is less than terrifying.

Mac and Me

Mac and Me was a relativity large-budgeted 1980’s rip-off of ET. The friendly ET role was played by a rubber puppet/doll that’s by times cheesy and kind of scary with its fake dead plastic face.

The Scorpion King

With a budget of almost 100 million bucks you’d think The Mummy Returns would do a better job with the effects for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s character The Scorpion King.

BIRDEMIC

Birdemic is a thriller about killer birds. It’s like the classic Hitchcock flick The Birds but with bad action, effects, pacing, direction, and without the strange Freudian subtexts.

BASKETCASE

Basketcase is about an evil Siamese twin removed from his brother and hosted in a….ahhhh who cares, just look at that rad monster in a box!

How to Delete a GIF

One of the most popular questions I’ve seen thus far was how to delete a GIF once it’s been uploaded.

Word of advice : If you’re creating GIFs using sensitive material (NSFW) always consider the consequences when uploading it on the internet for the public eye to see.

The method of deleting your GIF varies on whether you have a free or premium account.

For Free Users : Request Deletion

Head over to the bottom of the home page and click “Request Deletion”

Once there, fill out the form, adding the URL to your GIF (you can simply copy and paste it).

Once your request is submitted, our customer service reps will delete it in a giffy!

For Premium Users:

If you’re enjoying the perks of a premium account, you can easily delete your gif by simply clicking on the 3 dots on the upper right hand corner and selecting “delete this gif”. Voila!

How to Create a GIF from Photos

Andrea here from Make a Gif! Based on popular demand, I’m going to show you guys how easy it is to create a GIF using photos :)

This is the first out of a series of interactive “how to” articles to kick start your GIF making skills.

I’m happy to have one of our very own GIF users Leonard aka the “celebrity whisperer” share his numerous celebrity meet n greets into fun animated GIFS !

# Step 1 : Select your photos

Head over to Make a Gif, select Pictures to GIF

Once there, either drag and drop your photos OR add images manually

Step 2 : Select the order you want your photos to appear in

If you don’t have a specific order you want them to appear in, choose “Auto Arrange”.

If not, you can manually arrange them by hovering your mouse over each image ! (as seen below)

Step 3 : Resize and choose your animation speed

If you have a specific ratio in mind, choose custom size or any of the options featured in the drop down

Select the animation speed you want your GIF to be

Tip: The further you stretch it out, the faster the speed!

Step 4 : Download or Share it with Family/Friends!

Feel free to add text, download or share it on your social media platforms!
