Meitong Liu | 刘美彤

Hi! I am a first-year CS PhD student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, advised by Prof. Han Zhao. My research interests center around trustworthy machine learning, with a focus on algorithmic fairness and robustness. I am particularly curious about their theoretical foundations, from which I aim to develop practical solutions towards AI systems reliable for social deployment. Currently, I am working on theories and applications related to multi-objective learning.

Previously, I spent four wonderful years obtaining my Bachelor's degree at The University of Hong Kong. Back then, I also explored a bit of AI4Bio with Prof. Yu Li at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Misc

In my spare time, I enjoy dancing, riichi mahjong, movies, and novels. I write stories and journals to let my imagination flow and to self-reflect.

I am extremely grateful for all my supervisors and co-authors, who supported me without reservation. I am also lucky to have been inspired by many friends (non-exhaustive, alphabetical order): Liheng Chen, Yitao Liu, Keran Wang, Yaowen Ye.
