Smart7

7th chords + delay.

I designed this patch to play interesting ambient 7th chords on bass. The 7th chords match the scale you’re playing, automatically switching the 3rd and 7th degree to be major or minor according to the chord with the note you’re playing as root *in the scale you select*.

It applies a highpass filter, tone shaper, and all-pass filter before adding the 7th below the played note, and the 3rd and 5th above it with pitch shifters. The 3rd and 7th will be major or minor depending on what’s correct for the 7th chord with the note you’re playing as its root in the scale you’re playing. The 5th will always be a perfect fifth.

**IMPORTANT NOTE**: For this to work properly, you’ll have to select the scale (note and scale type) for BOTH the quantizers in the second page (2nd and 3rd button of each of the two light blue modules on the second page). The patch defaults to C Major. It should work for all standard 7-note modes. I haven’t tried it with other scales.

The patch applies some panning (with LFOs) on the 4 notes in the chord, with the root and 5th sharing the same panning, and the 3rd and 7th having panning mirroring each other. It then applies a modulated pingpong delay for flavor.

It takes a mono input on the left channel and outputs stereo.
