PathForge is supported by passionate volunteers and funded through grants and public donations.
You, too, can donate, volunteer, or help amplify our message, and thus help us make a real difference!

To secure grants, we often need to show matching capital. Every contribution, no matter the size, directly supports our work and allows us to reach more people, create lasting impact, and continue driving change where it’s needed most. Here are some specific projects your donations would help us fund:

Men’s circles are groups which provide a space for men to connect, share their experiences, and develop communication skills, emotional intelligence, and positive masculinities. But for many men developing or joining one remains a daunting task. We want to designing free interactive online blueprints which will offer specific guidance to make the task easier. Your contributions could help us make this happen.

We facilitate regular online and in-person discussion groups for anyone interested in how public, professional, and academic debates around men and masculinities are unfolding. We work across different perspectives, promoting understanding above political and cultural divides. The groups are free to join but take a lot of time to prepare and run. We record all sessions and need to edit the recordings. Your support would help us ensure that we can continue to facilitate this important discussion.

Men are often told what not to do, but rarely given guidance on what to do. Without providing positive narratives that resonate with men’s need for community, meaning, and purpose, we risk leaving a vacuum of meaning which is often filled by questionable voices. We have started research in this direction, but want to develop and promote a number of new narratives across different domains, such as fatherhood, relationships, work, sports, or spirituality. Your help would allow us to develop them more quickly and to better promote them.

Even a small one-off or regular donation helps us prove our sustainability to funders. As a registered charity, it’s also tax-deductible!

Volunteer

We’re a fun bunch of committed people who want to make a difference. Given the current political climate, we really feel that what we do matters. But as PathForge grows and the tasks multiply, we are finding ourselves in need of more hands (of any gender, age, or background). Would you like to join us?

Currently, we would really appreciate help in the following roles:

A reliable person able to take care of all the vital tasks that make things keep ticking and support PathForge’s daily life. This includes:

  • Network management, including maintaining contact with collaborators, help in composing and sending a newsletter, and managing the website updates
  • Discussion group management, including scheduling sessions, reaching out to potential guests, sending invites and reminders
  • Social media support, including scheduling content on Buffer and increasing engagement
  • Media appearances support, including finding potential podcasts and shows to appear, scheduling them, and maintaining contacts
  • Maintaining finance sheets

If you can’t commit to regular work but have basic video editing skills and an knack for making content engaging, this is a job for you. We run two discussion groups per month and the recordings need edited – at some point in the month. We have a CapCut license but are happy for you to work in any software you choose. Here are the specific tasks required:

  • Edit the raw recording for YouTube: crop dead time, apply sound and video filters, select snippets to turn into an intro roll.
  • Cut out 10-20 snips for social media: select the catchy parts, shave off ‘uhms’ and ‘ohms’, use our template to adjust aspect ratio and add branding.

Creating interesting content is one thing, but selling it is a whole different kind of magic. If you are good with finding clients, engaging participants, and pitching to interested parties, you are the person we need. Regular presence is important but the job might be a bit more ‘seasonal’ at points when we release new content. Tasks include:

  • Helping us promote and sell our training courses to businesses
  • Arranging invited talks and workshops at events
  • Promoting our work, events, and the content we generate on social media and via formal and informal networks

As PathForge is growing, we are finding ourselves in need of professional help regarding contracts and IP rights. This is not so much a regular job, as being willing to offer help when required. If you are a lawyer with a little extra time and a passion for the subject, we would be lucky to benefit from your assistance.
