Librelancer

Librelancer is a multi-platform reimplementation of the Freelancer™ game engine using a mixture of C# and C, built on FOSS software. It also includes enhanced versions of modding utilities for the game. Current enhancements include multithreading, per-pixel lighting, support for IPv6 server discovery, and an entirely editable user interface. More enhancements over the base engine are sure to come, with the baseline functionality target being Freelancer with the 1.1 patch and adoxa's JFLP enhancements, along with a few commonly used plugins by mods. Improvements to libraries such as SDL2 and Lidgren.Network have already been upstreamed as a result of the work on this project, and more are sure to come. Patreon proceeds go towards funding further development and paying server costs.
