Surah Ibrahim ayat 1

Alif-Lãm-Ra. ˹This is˺ a Book which We have revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ so that you may lead people out of darkness and into light, by the Will of their Lord, to the Path of the Almighty, the Praiseworthy

Looking at the above ayat, we can come to conclude that humanity is in darkness, and today we are witnesses of how its darkness is spreading very fast like a wildfire.

Recently on my way back from work, which is normally around 6/7 pm in the evening, something caught my eye.

I noticed that the same road that I use every morning heading to work is always different in the evening.

During the evening the shops, the restaurants, the gas stations, the apartm

The word “darknesses” is plural because the paths of misguidance are many and divided, each lost person has their own darkness, whereas “the light” is singular because the truth is one.

Bismillāh.

I opened it with a proud chest… and left with a humbled heart.

I wondered why guidance felt distant — why the words that once settled gently into my chest now left me confused, restless, searching.

I sat there… lost. Hopeless. And worst of all — carrying an ego I did not even realize I had.

There I was… reading Sūrah al-Kahf, wondering why I could no longer feel its beauty the way I once did.

Until I reached the story of Mūsā (ʿalayhi as-salām).

A Prophet… a Messenger… one whom Allah ﷻ spoke to directly.

And yet he was told:

“You do not know.” “You will not be able to be patient.”

What a test to the ego.

Every single human being is in a state of loss, and Allah swears by time itself so that no heart can turn away from that reality. The only ones who escape it are those who combine four things: genuine faith, righteous deeds, reminding each other of truth, and holding each other to patience through the difficulties that come with living that truth.

Imam Al-Shafi’i , may Allah have mercy on him, said, “If the people were to reflect upon Surah al-‘Asr, it would be enough for them.” (Tafsir ibn Kathir)

May Allah make us people who carry all four of these qualities, and who help those around us carry them too. Ameen

Most of us follow the warnings related to dunya carefully ....if there is rain forecast we take the precaution to carry an umbrella. If roads are slippery we drive very slowly. And also we warn our dear and near ones as well....

When people warn us about weather, traffic, or illness, we respond immediately. But when Allah, the Most Merciful, warns us for our own salvation and success , we delay, ignore, and become deluded by clinging on to dunya and following the footsteps of shaytan...

May Allah forgive our shortcomings ,protect from deception and May He pardon and forgive us all and May He beautify our hearts with eeman and taqwa.... Aameen

When I reflect on the story of Musa (AS) and Pharaoh, I realize something profound—our hardships may not be as عظیم as an ocean before us and an army behind us, yet they can feel just as overwhelming.

Every challenge we face in life is like that ocean standing in front of Musa (AS).

The real question is not about the size of the difficulty, but this:

"Will you place your trust in Allah (SWT) when you are faced with your own ocean of trials?" 🌊

I was fortunate to have had the opportunity recently to speak with some people who had a life changing medical condition. During the conversation, some of them mentioned the exact words, tone and circumstances in which the news of their diagnosis was delivered to them, despite this happening over 10 years prior. Unfortunately, they had often not been informed in the most empathetic way.

It really struck me how those few seconds left an imprint. Our words are not just recorded on our scroll of deeds, but may also be imprinted in people's hearts. And what a weighty thought that is.

It made me think of these ayat. If the doctors were fully aware of an Observer, mindful of the trust they hold

Have they really they gone?

The one whom you adored, the one whom you loved, The one whom you might have shared a disagreement with, the one who you sometimes said you would call them later. If only you could have one more conversation, if only you could tell them you love them once more.

Have they really gone?

The lifeless body whom you saw they took great pride and joy of, now seems hollow, even their own bodies they have left behind! changes in the skin, and face makes you yearn to have them back laughing and joking. But they are no more and neither that time.

A new time has begun, But within this time contains a very deep and profound lesson. The loved one you see lifeless, the lo

I know this pain, this loss as well. This void remains fresh with the grace of Allah. As you mentioned, that had it not been for Allah's mercy through His teachings, we would have been lost. Beautiful reminder. May Allah grant you and all of us sabr with ever increasing emaan ameen.

Salam Alaykum,

For me, this ayah is like a warm blanket for the soul. In times of trials, tribulations, fear, and worry, it is easy for one to feel as though the world is working against us or that we are being punished for something. At times, it can even feel as though Allah doesn't hear, see, or care about our struggles. This verse is a reminder that, in everything we are going through, Allah is closer than our jugular vein, and the trial we are facing is something he will guide and sustain us through.

So, in thinking along those lines, it's important to always strive for good and shun evil even when the latter may seem easier or better in those dark moments. Allah has not abandoned us

I was stunned to see how things worked out for me today. I am a college student and today was my lab external exam. In lab externals, we are given an experiment to execute. And at the end, a lecturer from some other college comes here for conducting viva voce. So before I was called for the viva, the dua of prophet Musa (A.S.) flashed my mind. Subhan Allah, as I recited it, I was less nervous of the questions. After I went there, everything went so smooth. I was asked questions which I already knew... Throughout the process, I was confident and grateful to Allah.
