A delightfully compact multimeter that does everything you'd expect one to do. For me that's continuity, AC/DC voltage, and occasionally resistance. It doesn't have a backlight, but it does have a proper beeper for continutity checking!</p>

The probes don't detach - I might print some kind of clip/pointy end cap thing at some point as it's easy to poke yourself when rummaging for it in a tiny toolkit.</p>

Bear in mind when purchasing - there are 3 models, UT120A, B and C - the "C" is the most capable one, notably the others can't do current measurement.</p>

It's quite a heavy kit at 1.9kg, primarily because of the multitools and the adjustable spanners, but it's very handy!</p>
Future</h2>
In this Tiny Toolkit, there’s a bit of duplication (especially box cutters and I certainly don't need two adjustable spanners in there!), but not much space left. I intend to expand the kit when I can to include a set of electronics screwdrivers, some electrical tape and other stuff I can find as we go along and then get rid of the duplicates to make space.</p>

A small length of paracord is sewn into the case back which can be used as a tie. Optionally my original kit has a small piece of cord stitched to the inside which I clip the swiss army knife too to prevent loss in the field.</p>

I found that I was frequently picking up my full size ratchet screwdriver and taking it along with my tiny tool kit, a clue that there was a gap in my tool kit. So I added the smallest and sweetest ratchet screwdriver I could find, the Wera 838 RA S</a>.</p>

It has a very smooth ratchet mechanism and a neat trick where you can turn the ratchet with your fingers to micro adjust a screw.</p>

In datacenters etc you'd often see a monitor, mouse and keyboard on wheels (also known as a "crash cart") and it's cool that this totally replaces that using the laptop you'd already have with you!</p>

I found a link to the Crowdsupply</a> somewhere on Fedi a while back, and got shipped the unit in late 2024. It works great! It also has programmable pins and a USB type A port that's switchable between the Host and Target devices which is a really nice touch.</p>

Jigsaw Handle

I wanted a tiny saw. I already had jigsaw blades to cut many things, and they are pleasingly small, so I really just needed a tiny handle. I thought I'd be able to buy one but apparently nobody makes such a thing.</p>
But, in my search I came across this idea from a Reddit user</a>, using a spare part from a Bosch jigsaw and a long bolt.</p>
I bought the part (1619P12765) online, and covered it in glue-lined heatshrink for a better grip.</p>
Any 100mm M6 bolt will do, I used a 100mm titanum caphead bolt from AliExpress (about 7 quid) for extra lightness and fanciness. Plus it actually has a nice knurl.</p>
The back of the blade is intended to locate in a divot in the end of the bolt, and fortunately these bolts have a bit of a divot from the thread-rolling process. It works OK, but if I was energetic I'd cut the right shape into the end of the bolt on the lathe.</p>
The container I used is a hard plastic tube that a fancy vanilla pod came in.</p>

These have a lot of cutting power for their size, up to 3.6mm piano wire, and for softer stuff they'll cut anything you can fit in their jaws. They come in a dizzying variety of models</a> - mine are the 71 21 200, with an angled head for flushier cutting and 200mm handles, but there are variants with shorter and longer handles and with straight heads.</p>

Jarkman's Zyklop Kit

This started life as a Wera Kraftform Kompakt Zyklop Speed, 26 pieces, 05051045001</a> but I've added a few bits.</p>
It does the job of a very nice 1/4" square-drive ratchet and a decent screwdriver. I like these 50mm long bits as a compromise between compactness and being able to reach down holes. This is the set I usually grab when going off to do anything with screws & nuts & bolts, because it covers so many bases in one go.</p>
It's also a handy set of bits to take along for use with a drill/driver or impact driver.</p>
I've added a few things - more Allen bits, hex to 1/4" adapters, a DeWalt angled driver (most handy when using a drill/driver in a confined space), and maybe most usefully a Britool D61 1/4" square drive L bar.</p>
I use this all the time, when I need to drive a bolt (usually a Pozi or Allen) and also need to use a socket to hold the nut on the other side. It's also super-handy for nuts in tight spaces, because it doesn't stick out of the back of the socket very far.</p>

All the bits in one screwdriver! There's room for Pozi, Phillips, Allen, Torx, and slot. Wiha sell this with various selections of bits but none of the selections are ideal, so you might end up mix-and-matching with some of the refill packs.</p>
It is also labelled differently in the EU and the USA. In UK it was labelled as a Wiha LiftUp 26one 43895</a></p>
The only place I could find to buy the refill packs was Digikey</a> - part codes 77780 to 77784.</p>
Before you get any clever ideas, these bits do not work in most 1/4" hex holders, there isn't enough hex to engage with the holder.</p>

The Duka Atuman R1 Ratchet Wrench Screwdriver set is compact and with it's aluminium body, it's lightweight too.</p>
It gives a huge amount of functionality in one package, replacing; Ratchet, screwdriver, stubby screwdriver and allen keys.</p>
It costs just £12 from Aliexpress. The trade offs I am balancing, it will not be as durable as some more expensive alternatives - time will tell if it is any good, nor as ergonomic as single use tools. Like every multitool, it does many things, none of them perfectly. This is not one of those tools that will give "that special magic feeling"^tm^ every time you use it.</p>
For a tiny tool kit, I removed the case, and some of the less common bits and designed a 2 row custom 3d printed TPU holder.

The concept is good, it's lightweight, but the quality of materials and construction are not good enough. What did I expect for £12? After 6 months of light use, the ratchet lever fell out (picture below) and 2 or 3 of the bits have shattered due to poor material quality. I can still push it back in to change direction, so it's still in my kit, until I find a better replacement.</p>

Fisher 150mm satin chrome rule</h1> A really good little ruler. Flexible, high contrast, markings are very durable. Costs about 3 quid.</p>

Kutsuwa 300mm folding rule</h1> Because who doesn't want a long ruler in a short case ? Also functions as a sort-of set square, with detents at assorted angles.</p> Midori make something similar, too, in plastic or metal.</p>

Midori XS tape measure</h1> A 1.5m flexible fiberglass tape measure in a tiny, tiny package</p>

Sharpest compass</h1> A compass with a built-in 0.5mm mechanical pencil.</p>
