About

Words of Type is a platform to expand and practice your knowledge in typography.

This is the website where you’ll find a series of lectures and workshops about diverse content. They are great opportunities to learn and practice, get live feedback, and discuss with experts from around the world.

We made a survey for those who have already attended one or more of our events. Please take a few minutes (10-12 min!) to help us!

Words of Type also has a multilingual encyclopedia for typography.

We are aiming for a place that reflects and cultivates our international typographic world to, eventually, bring people closer together.

COMING SOON:
A new version of this website is in progress, with more nice things. Stay tuned!

WoT for KBI program

Since 2025, Words of Type has partnered with Stanford University’s SILICON program and Letterform Archive in San Francisco, USA, to develop the Donald Knuth and Charles Bigelow Type Design Incubator (KBI for short) to offer introductory knowledge to people with an interest in type design on digitally underserved writing systems or with the aim to decolonize Latin type design. More information will be shared soon!
