Ana María Tenorio López, a fifth-year Mechanical Engineering student at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, was one of 250 students selected out of over 3,000 applicants to participate in the European Student Assembly 2026 in Strasbourg, where she represented her university and EELISA alongside five other students from across the Alliance. As part of Panel 2 on Circular Economy, Ana's team worked on Design for Repair: the argument that how we design products determines how much waste we generate, and that making repairability a structural requirement is an engineering decision with systemic consequences. What stayed with her: “The world belongs to all of us. If we want to achieve meaningful progress, we need to reach agreements, and to do that, we must learn to understand and truly listen to each other.” Full #EELISANarrators article at https://lnkd.in/ekHDysxT #WeAreEELISA #ESA26 #EuropeanUniversities #CircularEconomy #DesignForRepair #StudentVoices #Innovation #Collaboration #Sustainability #socialimpact Universidad Politécnica de Madrid FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi Budapest University of Technology and Economics Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna Scuola Normale Superiore University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest PSL Research University Mines Paris - PSL Chimie ParisTech - PSL École nationale des ponts et chaussées ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences

The results of the 7th EELISA Joint Call for Communities are in! 39 proposals submitted and 17 selected for funding. For the first time, this edition introduced two distinct tracks: Research & Innovation, and Student-Led Training, Community Building, and Campus Engagement, reflecting what EELISA Communities do across the alliance. The selected projects stood out for their originality, use of active learning methodologies, inter-institutional collaboration, and real potential for long-term impact beyond the funding period. 250 students selected out of nearly 2,900 applicants. A Budapest University of Technology and Economics student represented their university & EELISA at the European Student Assembly in Strasbourg last week, as part of Panel 5 on digital literacy, cybersecurity, and AI. The panel tackled some of the EU's most pressing digital challenges (misinformation, deepfakes, cloud sovereignty, digital skills) and every one of their proposals made it through. “This gave me a real look into how European policy actually gets made and how much it shapes our daily lives.” #WeAreEELISA #EuropeanUniversities #ESA26 #Digital #Europe #Cybersecurity #StudentVoices #EUPolicy #Innovation #Collaboration #Sustainability #SocialImpact
4 months of work. 3 days in European Parlament in Strasbourg 🇪🇺 Last week in Strasbourg, during the European Student Assembly, organized by EUC Voices, we presented proposals we had been working on for 4 months. As a member of Panel 5 - "Unlocking Digital Potential: How can the EU empower inclusive digital literacy and cybersecurity and build resilience", I had the privilege to work alongside some really driven people. Being selected as one of 250 students out of nearly 2,900 applicants already felt special - but what came after was even better. We worked on some of the biggest digital challenges the EU is facing right now: misinformation, deepfakes, AI, cybersecurity, digital skills, and cloud sovereignty. On the final day, all 10 of our policy recommendations were adopted. As a first-year international student, this gave me a real look into how European policy actually gets made - and how much it shapes our daily lives. What surprised me most is that some of the best conversations happened not in the meeting room, but over coffee and late city walks. It was a privilege to represent Budapest University of Technology and Economics though the EELISA European University alliance. A big thank you to our coordinators Laura Helena Poliaková and Marc Rodríguez García for the guidance and keeping us on track throughout the whole thing. I am also incredibly grateful to my co-penalists for the moments we shared Olha Taushan Brentdellé Etienne Lorena SUGNY Fruzsina Nánai Tinja Untinen Chang Hasheminezhad-Li María Eugenia Ramiro Gutiérrez - people from such different backgrounds, all with something valuable to contribute.
