  • NCNW President and CEO @shavonarline delivered the keynote at the DC Full Democracy Luncheon in celebration of District of Columbia Emancipation Day, honoring the city’s legacy of resistance, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of full democracy. She urged attendees to stay the course and recognize the power and influence rooted in Washington, D.C., a city that continues to lead the nation in the fight for representation and justice. She also honored the enduring leadership of Eleanor Holmes Norton, whose decades of advocacy for DC statehood and civil rights remain a guiding force in the struggle for equity and self-determination. The message was clear: DC’s voice is powerful, its people are essential, and its democracy must be fully realized.

  • It’s Black Maternal Health Week a time to focus on the urgent realities facing Black mothers before during and after child birth. Black women are more likely to experience preventable complications driven by gaps in care bias and systemic inequities. Help us advocate for Black maternal health by demanding early screening and timely treatment expanding postpartum care to one year ensuring insurance coverage for doulas and midwives and investing in Black led solutions. #BlackMaternalHealthWeek #HealthEquity

  • This spring, we invite you to plant the seeds of lasting prosperity by supporting the RISE Program. Your donation provides Black women with the critical tools to transition from financial survival to long-term sustainability. From college students building credit to seniors securing their legacies, your gift funds the workshops and expert coaching that turn financial goals into reality. By giving today, you are directly investing in the human capital and economic resilience of our community. The RISE program is the heartbeat of the NCNW Economic Empowerment pillar, transforming the goal of equity into practical action. While we advocate for systemic change, RISE does the work on the ground, dismantling barriers to wealth through sophisticated investment education and homeownership strategies. Your support strengthens this foundation, empowering a new generation of women to build generational wealth and lead our community toward a more secure financial future. • Education is our core pillar and the bridge to the truth, allowing us to reclaim our history and fortify our future. At NCNW, education is realized through intentional mentorship, ensuring every generation understands the "why" behind our mission. This commitment to knowledge is why we continue to operate with the strategic acumen of Dr. Dorothy Height, who was mentored by our founder, Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune. Through our flagship Bethune-Height Changemaker Pathways program, we provide a dedicated mentorship pipeline for collegiate Black women, equipping them with the tools and professional development needed to lead. By prioritizing education, we transition from passive observation to an active, strategic posture against injustice. We ask you to invest in us now, just as Dr. Bethune invested in Dorothy Height and all future generations of Black women. Your contribution ensures that this legacy of leadership and learning continues to thrive for years to come.Donate here: bit.ly/NCNWSpring26 #Education #BHCP
