  • 🇪🇺 Yesterday in Brussels, our CEO Siv Juvik Tveitnes, together with Pia Kalsta from  Sanoma Media Finland and Klaus Th. Høeg-Hagensen from JP/Politikens Hus participated in a timely and valuable discussion at the European Parliament on what it takes to sustain trusted media in today’s digital environment. A sincere thank you to MEPs Eero Heinäluoma and MEP Evin I. for hosting this important conversation. A key takeaway was clear: the sustainability of trusted media is not just an industry concern, it is a prerequisite for strong and resilient democracies. Data is central to how modern media operates, underpinning both user experience and the business models that finance trusted and independent journalism. As Europe continues to shape its digital regulatory framework, it is essential that these realities are fully taken into account. 🙏 Many thanks to Rasmus Kleis Nielsen, University of Copenhagen, and Malte Beyer-Katzenberger, European Commission, for sharing insightful perspectives, and to all participants for contributing to such an open and constructive debate. ↗️ At Schibsted, we remain committed to investing in independent journalism and to engaging in this important policy discussion, helping to build a digital landscape that supports innovation, ensures strong privacy protections, and enables trusted media to continue fulfilling its vital role in society. #TrustedMedia #Journalism #MediaFreedom #Democracy

  • 🤝 𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐨𝐫𝐲. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭. At Media Summit in Stockholm, our CEO Siv Juvik Tveitnes joined TV4 CEO Mathias Berg — in a conversation moderated by Linnea Kihlström — to share how the collaboration between Schibsted and TV4 is already taking shape, just months after the acquisition. A few takeaways: 🧩 𝐀 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 A shared foundation in journalism and creating moments that matter, combined with commercial drive and a clear focus on new technology, is creating real momentum across teams. As Berg put it, people come back from joint meetings with energy and inspiration. 📈 𝐌𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐦 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭 From cross-promotion across platforms to a stronger, more unified advertising offering in Sweden — bringing our capabilities together is already delivering value for both advertisers and audiences. 🎧 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐩 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐨 We are focusing on media formats that are growing fast and reaching new audiences — from podcasts and new audio initiatives to video. 🚀 𝐅𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭, 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 Both organizations highlight how quickly teams have connected — and the opportunities this unlocks going forward. The combination of Schibsted’s media brands with TV4 and MTV marks a new chapter for us in the Nordics — and today’s conversation offered an early glimpse of what we are building together 💪

  • Schibsted partners with EsterCare to support women's health at work 💜 We’re proud to partner with EsterCare, giving employees in Norway and Sweden free access to the healthtech-platform focused on women's health. Why? Because too many women live with health challenges that are underdiagnosed, untreated — or simply not talked about which affects both wellbeing and working life. Today, EsterCare's founders Lydia Graflund Kastengren and Helena Graflund Lagercrantz visited our office in Stockholm to talk more about their platform and initiative 👋 Grethe Malkmus, EVP People at Schibsted opened their presentation with a few words about why women's health matters at work: - Schibsted aims to be a workplace where everyone has equal opportunities to feel well and perform at their best. We know that women’s health challenges have long received too little attention in working life. By investing in better support and knowledge, we want to contribute to better health and more equal conditions, says Malkmus. Through EsterCare, our employees will get access to screenings, specialist support and personalised health plans — making it easier to get the right help, earlier. This is about better health. More knowledge. And more equal conditions at work 🌟🫶

  • It’s not every day you get to build something entirely new – from the ground up. We’re now looking for more colleagues to join Aftonbladet Radio – a venture that marks the beginning of a long-term investment in national news radio in Sweden. For Schibsted, this is about more than launching a new channel. It’s about strengthening independent journalism – and making it accessible to more people, every single day. Aftonbladet Radio will combine news, sport and entertainment, with live journalism at its core. A channel defined by speed, relevance and personality – built on Aftonbladet’s news strength and Schibsted’s broader editorial ecosystem. Building something from the ground up means shaping everything: the format, the tone, the energy – and ultimately how people experience news in their daily lives. Aftonbladet and Schibsted Marketing & Services are now looking for both editorial talent and commercial profiles who want to be part of this from the very beginning – and help create something that hasn’t existed before in the Swedish radio landscape. A stronger joint offering starts here. This week, Schibsted Marketing Services and TV4 shared an important step forward in how our advertising organisations no work together. By deepening our commercial collaboration, tv4.se, Fotbollskanalen and Köket are now becoming part of Schibsted’s display and video portfolio. For us, this is about building stronger advertising opportunities for the market. By bringing together TV4’s strong digital brands and Schibsted’s commercial reach, we can offer advertisers broader reach, more premium contexts, and greater flexibility across campaigns. Together, we now reach nine out of ten people in Sweden digitally. This is an important step in our continued development – and a strong foundation for creating even better offerings for advertisers going forward. What he found was a man trying to restore a TV signal in the middle of destruction — a quiet, human moment that would later become Photo of the Year in Norway. Photojournalist Kyrre Lien from VG - Verdens Gang AS, part of Schibsted, captured a powerful scene of everyday life returning after war – and won the top prize at the prestigious “Årets bilde 2025”. 🏆 The image, “En ny begynnelse” ("A new beginning"), shows something simple yet profound: even in places marked by destruction, people rebuild, reconnect and move forward. Lien also won three additional categories, making him the most awarded photographer of the night. Several other photographers from Schibsted’s newsrooms were also recognised with awards and podium finishes – highlighting the strength of visual journalism across our brands. 📸 👏 Congratulations to our award-winning photojournalists and photographers: Kyrre L. (VG), Gisle Oddstad (VG), Annemor Larsen (VG), Espen Rasmussen (VG), Gøran Bohlin (VG), Bjørn S. Delebekk (VG), Jarle Aasland (Stavanger Aftenblad), Gina Grieg Riisnæs (Aftenposten), Stig B. Videofy converts written news articles into ready-to-publish video summaries in just a few minutes. The tool pulls content from an article, generates a script, selects visuals, produces a voiceover, and assembles a video that editors review before publication. After producing thousands of videos internally, we are now releasing a fully functional base version of Videofy on GitHub. 🚀 By sharing the technology, we hope to lower the barrier for innovation and encourage collaboration across the media industry — especially for newsrooms that may not have the resources to build similar tools themselves. Recently our Director of Data & AI Platform, Juan Carlos Lopez Calvet, also presented Videofy on stage at the Voices - European Festival of Journalism and Media Freedom in Florence. 🎤 👇 Explore the code on GitHub — link in the comments below.

🎧 Podme passes 200,000 paying subscribers in Norway A big milestone for Podme Norway - we’ve now reached 200,000 paying subscribers. Since launching in Norway nearly five years ago, the platform has grown into a place where listeners return week after week. On average, subscribers play 7–8 episodes every week, showing the strong connection audiences have with podcasts. The growth has been fueled by a broad mix of content - from popular entertainment podcasts to investigative documentaries and news titles - alongside several new launches this year, including collaborations with VGTV’s Spårtsklubben, documentary series from VG and Aftenposten, and a new entertainment podcast with Linn Skåber. A huge thank you to the Podme team and to all the listeners who keep coming back. We’re just getting started. 🎙️ #Podme #Podcast #Audio #Norway #Milestone #DigitalSubscriptions

It was a long-term commitment. By bringing together leading media houses in Norway 🇳🇴, Sweden 🇸🇪 and Finland 🇫🇮, we strengthened our ability to invest in independent journalism across the Nordics – at a time when trusted news and responsible ownership matter more than ever. Over the past year, our focus has been clear: ➡️ Safeguarding editorial independence ➡️ Ensuring stability and long-term ownership ➡️ Building sustainable media businesses across borders Our mission remains unchanged: 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐦.
