🚨 𝗠𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼 𝗙𝗠𝗖 𝗩𝘂𝗹𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 Cisco has released urgent patches for 2 critical Secure Firewall Management Center (FMC) vulnerabilities, all rated CVSS 10.0 severity. These flaws allow unauthenticated remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or scripts with root privileges, effectively compromising the device. 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘃𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝘀𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗹𝗮𝘄𝘀. VIQ Solutions, a contracted transcription provider for Australian courts, subcontracted those files to an Indian firm in breach of its Commonwealth contracts. The result: some of Australia's most sensitive legal records were accessed by a foreign entity. This was not a cyberattack. It was a deliberate decision to cut costs and a failure of vendor governance.
