The average Australian household is already running 20 to 25 smart devices, and that number is expected to nearly double by 2030. They sit on home and office networks and rarely come up in a security conversation. That changed on 𝟰 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲. Australia now has mandatory security standards for smart devices, and they matter whether you are buying for the office or the home. We put together a short explainer on what the new rules cover and what they mean for you. 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 → https://sl1nk.com/lfLPg #CyberSecurity #SmartDevices #IoTSecurity #AustraliaCyber #SecureISS

These flaws allow unauthenticated remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or scripts with root privileges, effectively compromising the device. One issue involves an authentication bypass in the web interface, while the other exploits insecure deserialisation. ⚠️ 𝗜𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘂𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗹𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱. 🔗 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘆: https://lnkd.in/gsbYQxuX If your organisation needs assistance, the Secure ISS SOC team is ready to help. #Cisco #Vulnerability #CyberSecurity #SOCAdvisory #SecureISS

Last week, Lumara flagged high-priority alerts on a client environment that looked like active reconnaissance. Our analysts dug in, correlated the signals, and got an answer to the client quickly. VIQ Solutions, a contracted transcription provider for Australian courts, subcontracted those files to an Indian firm in breach of its Commonwealth contracts. The result: some of Australia's most sensitive legal records were accessed by a foreign entity. This was not a cyberattack. It was a deliberate decision to cut costs and a failure of vendor governance. We wrote about what happened, why data sovereignty matters, and what every Australian organisation should be asking of its vendors right now. 👉 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 https://lnkd.in/ghRktfip At Secure ISS, data sovereignty is a commitment we uphold in practice. Our operations are entirely onshore because we believe Australian data should be defended by Australian talent, under Australian law.

  • 444,000+ Australians had their financial data exposed in a breach of youX, a platform most of them had probably never heard of. Their data was there because their broker used youX as part of a standard loan process. That is a supply chain breach. We're proud to share that Secure ISS is now certified Australian Owned! 🇦🇺 Australian Owned is a national certification program that verifies businesses are Australian owned and operated. We pursued this certification for official validation and to join a network of Aussie businesses who are championing local ownership. For nearly 20 years, we've been right here on the Gold Coast. We started as a small operation and built our way into the managed security space, doing it all with an entirely local team. This certification puts an official stamp on something we've always been, and that matters to us. We've always believed that Australia is secure when Australian talent defends it, and this milestone is one more way we're putting that belief into action. 👉🏻 View our Australian Owned listing: https://lnkd.in/gKuN8rRM Read Here: https://lnkd.in/gDpCVcSr
