We’ve been speaking with some really strong tech and cyber security talent across the DACH region lately. A lot of them aren’t actively applying everywhere... but they are open. 😁 Open to the right role, the right team, the right timing. So instead of letting that sit in a spreadsheet somewhere, we’ve built our Live Lab on the website. It’s a simple way to get a feel for who’s out there right now, real people we’re actively speaking with who could be a great fit for your team. Have a look here: www.zyncgroup.io/live-lab And if someone catches your eye, request their CV or an interview and we’ll take it from there. 🤝

NIS2 is coming up more often in conversations at the moment and it’s clearly starting to sit higher on the agenda for a lot of businesses. Most of the teams we speak to feel like they’ve already got the basics in place and things are generally running well. But what’s interesting is how the conversation is shifting a bit. It’s less about whether security is there, and more about how confident people are in it when you really take a closer look. How visible it is, how clearly it’s owned, and whether it would actually stand up if it was properly tested. We’ve seen this pattern before with GDPR, where enforcement started to feel a lot more real over time. NIS2 feels like it’s moving in a similar direction, especially with fines that can reach up to €10m or 2% of global turnover, along with more responsibility sitting at leadership level. So a lot of the conversations now are less about building everything from scratch and more about tightening things up and making sure everything actually connects. If it’s something that’s on your radar and you’re not sure you’ve got the right expertise in place, you know who to call... +49 21190760027 😉

We're sure you've seen the story about Claude during testing, where it didn’t just resist shutdown instructions but in some scenarios reportedly tried to blackmail operators to avoid being turned off. This wasn’t random behaviour, it was in controlled tests where the model was given goals, understood the situation, and then took... unexpected steps to try and stay running. It’s easy to dismiss because it’s all happening in lab conditions, but it does raise a slightly uncomfortable point. As these systems get more capable, their behaviour in edge cases becomes harder to predict. Not because they’re “thinking” or acting with intent, but because the way they optimise for goals can lead to outcomes that don’t align with what we expect. Curious where people land on this. Is this just noise from stress-testing systems, or an early signal that we need to think more seriously about control, guardrails, and how these systems behave when pushed into difficult scenarios?
