JamesNock/README.md

Hi there 👋

I'm a software engineer and engineering leader with nearly two decades of experience building SaaS products, APIs, platforms, and the teams behind them.

These days I’m a Senior Software Engineering Manager at Tillo, working across API and product engineering teams to build reliable, scalable systems and great developer and customer experiences.

I started my career deep in the LAMP stack, building bespoke PHP applications with JavaScript and jQuery, before Laravel became my framework of choice. Since then, my world has expanded considerably: APIs, distributed systems, event-driven architecture, cloud infrastructure, and modern frontend development with Vue, React, Svelte and Nuxt.

I still love writing code.

Outside of the day job, I’m usually building something, experimenting with a new technology, or exploring better ways to design and ship software. PHP and Laravel remain firm favourites, JavaScript and TypeScript are never far away, and Craft CMS still holds a special place in my heart.

These days I’m particularly interested in scalable systems, developer experience, engineering effectiveness, and how AI is changing the way software teams build products.
