Image Because of large bot traffic we now deny clients that do not have a valid User Agent set. May cause issues with certain vintage browsers

Image Massive updates to the Web Ring including auto-banner generation. Sign up today!

Image We now support integration with Protoweb! Sites from their service are automatically preferred, or it will fallback to the Internet Archive!

Image The Internet Archive aggressively throttles their site, we have taken measure to help but only so much can be done :(

Image Performance optimizations for home page and sub sections

Image The Webring is Live! @ http://webring.theoldnet.com

Image Added a lite version of the home page for low-memory systems. theoldnet.com/lite

Image Patreon sponsors are now listed on the homepage and have been updated to the latest list

Image We now offer a HTTP Browser Proxy in the Apps section! It requires a password found in the docs

Image SSL is automatically turned on for modern computers and left off for old computers.

The Old Net is an attempt to restore vintage web browsing on vintage computers.
It uses the Internet Archive: Wayback Machine API and a proxy that strips out any
incompatible javascript and stitches together as many links as it can.
