Inspiration ✨❄️

A few days back, one of my friends suggested we read a book called "Productivity Superhero", We found that book incredible! We got to know the secrets of living like a productive human, it was a storehouse of great knowledge, We thought why not implement these secrets into a professional industry-level app where users can 10x their work?

What it does ⚒️🏗️

It does the following:

  - It allows the user to either register as an employee or a company owner.
  - it allows the company owner to assign tasks to employees with deadlines in the company.
  - the employee can complete the task by the deadline, and talk with colleagues or the leader.
  - to improve their productivity, they have a Pomodoro timer with them.
  - Furthermore, they get the option to instantly file-share with each other with finger snaps or collaboratively talk in a document.

How we built it 👷🚧

This was the roadmap we followed to build this:

 - We spent more than 1.5 hours on ideation because a good idea is better than a product with a good tech stack but a bad idea.
 - Then, we moved on to thinking about the tech stack, and the screens that would be required for more than 1 hour.
 - Then, we divided the work and started working! 🔥
 - Congrats! 🥳 if you are seeing this, then you are witnessing the Version 1.0.

Challenges we ran into 🚫🤚

We ran into the following challenges, unfortunately, because no adventure is complete without challenges!

  • Communication problems: we had problems with properly communicating and explaining the idea properly to each other.
  • Working on something in less time after a long time: we were working on a project that had to be completed in less time after a very long time.
  • Errors: uh-oh, I meant features*.

Accomplishments that we're proud of 🥳🤩

Well, well, well, 🥁🥁🥁, we are proud that we at least used the opportunity to make something, network with someone, learn something new, and have fun!

What we learned 🏫📔

We learned how to deal with errors, how to manage communication problems, how to make an end-product despite the number of tries it took, we learned how teamwork does the dream work, and we learned how to be productive ;)

What's next for TaskMate 📈🔮

What is next for TaskMate, you ask? Here it is:

  • We initially thought to make it for everyone, for n number of organizations, student groups, n number of employees, but you know what was the outcome, we could only do it partially (if you saw the demo video, heyy, if you just scrolled down here, GO BACK UP and check, I'm sure you would not miss this ;) !) 🔥
  • We plan to make v2.0 with:
    • leaderboard 🤩
    • points system (shop) 🛒
    • better UI/UX and animations 🥳
    • something to excite people even more 🔥
    • graphs and charts (for nerds) to analyze the progress.
  • Oh no! This is not enough space for me to write whatever's going on in our team's mind.

Usage of AI Tools 🤖🤖

So, as we all know the difference between senior developers and junior developers: Juniors: They Google Solutions. Seniors: They google solutions faster. 😎

With the revolution of AI, even junior programmers have a great opportunity to learn from the AI, and not completely copy-paste if they know the basics, we, also took the help of ChatGPT to help us debug our errors!
