Not at all! In fact, Event Aggregator is baked right into The Events Calendar so there is nothing to install as long as The Events Calendar is installed and activated on your WordPress site.

What you will need is a license key to activate Event Aggregator. Purchase one right on this page then follow these instructions to register it on your site.

At the moment,  unfortunately there is no way to Import Facebook Events.

More info this: The problem is that Facebook updated its API back in 2018 and restricted access to certain kinds of data in the process, including the ability to import event content. You can read all about the change in this blog post.

The primary difference is that Event Aggregator imports events from a variety of calendar sources, where Eventbrite Tickets — true to the name — allows for Eventbrite Tickets to be embedded in your events AND provides more ways to import events from Eventbrite (including Eventbrite tickets, if any).

More specifically:

  • Eventbrite Tickets syncs back to Eventbrite. In other words, you can create an event in WordPress and have it publish at Eventbrite automatically. On the flip side, Event Aggregator does not send data to other services; it only pulls it in.
  • Eventbrite Tickets displays registration. Eventbrite’s bread and butter is setting up tickets and RSVPs on the events it publishes. Eventbrite Tickets fetches those tickets and RSVPs and displays them on the event page in WordPress. Event Aggregator, on the other hand, does not import tickets or RSVPs from other sources.
  • Eventbrite Tickets lets you import from your Eventbrite account. While Event Aggregator lets you import from a specific Eventbrite URL, Eventbrite Tickets allows you to import all events from your Eventbrite account in a few clicks.

You get 100 daily imports for use on up to 10 sites with an Event Aggregator Personal License. What that means is that any import — regardless of how many events it includes — counts as one import. That includes saved and scheduled imports. Each one counts as a single import even if 1,000 events are imported (whoa, big import!).

Other licenses include additional daily imports if you expect to go beyond 100 in a day:

  • Community: 200 imports
  • Community Hub: 1,000 imports

Event Aggregator is able to fetch events from just about any calendar that has an accessible .ics file or iCal feed. That includes a bunch of popular services, including:

  • Google Calendar
  • Outlook
  • Apple Calendar
  • Eventbrite
  • Meetup

Need to import from somewhere else that doesn’t have an accessible .ics file or iCal feed? Download the .ics file and upload it directly to Event Aggregator!

Yes! Event Aggregator will indeed import event images on most import sources, as long as it is attached to the event during import.

Categories, however, are not included in the import. That said, you can still categorize events during the import process.

There’s no need to download Event Aggregator! It is already included in our free The Events Calendar plugin. As long as The Events Calendar is installed and active on your WordPress site, then you already have Event Aggregator ready to go — all you need is a license key to enable it.
