Note: Once you delete your account, all of your photos and account content will be deleted, and we won't be able to recover them.
Delete your Flickr Account
Web Browser
- Sign in to Flickr using a web browser.
- Click on your profile photo | select Settings.
- Under the “Accounts & Subscription” tab, click Delete your Flickr account under "Account".
- Read the important messages, then click OK-NEXT.
- You'll be prompted to enter your password to confirm your account deletion.
- Check Yes, I fully understand...
- Click DELETE MY ACCOUNT.
Android + iOS
- Log into your Flickr account on the Flickr app.
- Tap the three dot menu on the top-right corner.
- Scroll down and tap on Delete account.
- Read the important messages, then click OK-NEXT.
- You’ll be prompted to enter your password to confirm your account deletion.
- Check Yes, I fully understand...
- Click DELETE MY ACCOUNT.
Note: Public images from deleted accounts may still appear in third-party search engines, like Google. Learn more about search engine indexes.

We take account security seriously at Flickr. If you want to gain access to a Flickr account, or delete a Flickr account, we will first need to verify ownership of the account. Please go through our account recovery process using the guide below.
Free account limits and enforcement
What are the limits for Free accounts?
Free accounts are not allowed to:
- Post content with Moderate or Restricted Safety Levels. Free accounts are limited to posting Safe content only.
- Post Commercial content. Only our Pro members are permitted to engage in commercial activity.
- Store more than 50 Non-Public photos or videos. Non-Public consists of Private & Friends and Family photos.
- Upload over 1,000 items.
Content that exceeds these limits is at risk of deletion.

What happens if my account violates these limits?
If your account contains content that exceeds the Free account limits:
- Your account may be temporarily suspended.
- You’ll receive a notice via email and FlickrMail from our Trust & Safety team.
We may terminate the accounts of members who repeatedly violate Flickr’s guidelines or refuse to address non-compliant content.
How can I bring my account into compliance?
To restore your account, you can:
- Continue using Flickr without limits.
- Upload Moderate or Restricted content.
- Post more than 1,000 items.
- Use your account for commercial activity.
Upgrading to Pro will automatically remove the suspensions for Moderate, Restricted or Commercial Content from your account.

Received a suspension or warning email in error?
If you believe your account is in compliance and you’ve received a suspension or warning email in error, please contact us to confirm your account’s standing.
What happens if I do nothing?
If your account is suspended for violations of Free Account Limits, it will not be restored unless you upgrade to Pro or remove non-compliant content. In addition, further restrictions may be placed on your account, and non-compliant content or your account itself may be deleted.
Account has been reviewed by Flickr staff and marked as suspended
If your account is determined to contain posts that violate our Terms & Conditions of Use or Community Guidelines, your account may be temporarily placed into a suspended state. In that case, you will receive a notification with more details from Flickr’s Trust & Safety team in your email and FlickrMail account.
What happens to my account when it is suspended?
- Your content will be viewable only to you as the logged-in account owner. Other members will not be able to see your photos. While your profile will still be searchable, your photos will be hidden from public view.
- Your comments will not be displayed.
- You will not be able to add new photos to groups. Group admins will not be able to see your photo submission.
- You will still be able to upload Safe content, comment, fave, and send or receive FlickrMail.
- Any existing group photos will be hidden from public view.
- Other members will not receive notifications of your activity.
How do I remove the suspended state from my account?
Non-Safe content in a Free account |
To restore your account, please Upgrade to Pro and make sure your content is properly moderated. Your account will be automatically reactivated.

Commercial activity in a Free account |
To restore your account, please Upgrade to Pro. Your account will be automatically reactivated. As an alternative, you must delete all commercial content from your account. Once all commercial content has been deleted you may contact our Trust & Safety team here so that your account can be reviewed and reactivated. |
All other violations |
You will need to remedy the issues described in the notification from the Trust & Safety team. Once you have brought your account into compliance, you can contact our Trust & Safety team here. |
