About the challenge

HackMas: HackMars 2.0 is an online hackathon where students help redesign how people learn, this time with a Christmas twist on it. You'll have to find a clean way to implement the holiday season into your program, with the best submission of each category winning prizes.

Tracks (pick one on submission):

  • Productivity – Create a program that can help students around the world remove distractions, work faster, or "gamify" studying. You MUST incorporate at least some visible Christmas/holiday element into the final program.

  • Real World Problem – Research a real-world issue, and create a program that could contribute to solving it. This real-world issue must be related to the holidays.

  • Career + College – Create a program that can help students with college admissions, research of colleges, or find info regarding careers. While difficult to incorporate the holidays, please try your best.
  • Program of your own choosing – If the prior tracks are not of your interest, feel free to make your own program, but it should help others, serve a purpose, and be related to the holiday season.

Judging criteria:

  • Creativity / Innovation
  • Holiday season theme
  • Execution
  • Functionality
  • Impact / Potential
  • Presentation / Pitch
