About

Note: This blog is dedicated to my personal adventures and discoveries. For technicalities see ilg The Geek’s Blog.

My name is Liviu Ionescu (ilegeul or eunete for colleagues and friends), and I was born on June 24th, 1962, in Bucharest, Romania, Europe.

I had the chance to travel a bit, and I want to share part of my wonderful experience with you.

In addition to the general interest for traveling, here are some of my interests:

  • Aviation – buzzing around in a light aircraft is one of the most exciting and rewarding experiences I ever lived.
  • Scuba Diving – it took me about two years and several tens of dives to realize why I like it so much: it is the underwater equivalent of flying.
  • Mountaineering – although I’m not going out as often as I would like, mountains still remain my favorite place to be. The farther away from modern civilization, the better.

The header photo is from the 2009 trip to Nepal, and was taken from Mt. Mera by my friend Cătălin. In the far central area is the Mt. Everest pyramid, surrounded by Mt. Lohtse on the right and the Nuptse ridge on the left.

I’d be happy to know your opinions, comments, critics, anything, so please feel free to drop me comments on any posts.
