Once your application is submitted, a Community Program Supporter will review it and reach out if they have any questions or need additional information.
Your event will progress through several statuses. Each status reflects where your event is in the planning and approval process. You can find out more about these statuses here.
What Community Program Supporters do for this program
Here’s how your WPCC event application moves through the process, and how Community Program Supporters work with you to guide your event from start to finish:
- You submit your application.
- A Community Program Supporter will review the application by vetting the lead organizer and any other organizers listed on the application. They will reach out if they have any questions or need additional information.
- Applicants may choose to request an interview and/or orientation call with a Community Program Supporter, or alternatively, they can follow this guide to complete the orientation independently.
- After the orientation is complete, either via a call or by using this guide, the organizer agreement will be sent to the lead organizer.
- An email address for the event website and event management is required. We recommend using your .edu or institutional email address, but we can set up an email address for the event, such as
campusconnect-{event-slug}@events.wordpress.org. You’ll be sent instructions about how to access the inbox. - A Community Program Supporter will handle the setup of the event website. You’ll be sent instructions about how to access the website. From there, you can make edits and add any content you like.
- During pre-planning, the organizer prepares the event budget and can be paired with a mentor for guidance if needed.
- Next, ask a Community Program Supporter to pre-review your budget before submitting it for the official budget review.
- After budget approval, a Community Program Supporter will ask the event organizer to send the venue contract to [email protected].
- After your venue contract is signed and your event website is ready, we’ll mark your event as ‘Scheduled’. At that point, you can take your site out of ‘Coming Soon’ mode and share it with everyone.
- Have fun at the event!
- After your event, you’ll receive a WordPress Campus Connect organizer survey to complete, and your attendees will also be sent a survey. We’d also love for you to share your highlights and feedback in the #campusconnect channel.
