This text is a great introduction to web design. It covers a huge variety of topics and is well organized. The scope and sequence are appropriate for a beginner textbook on web design. Someone who has not done this before should be able to design simple webpages after working through this book. If, having read it and worked through it, you want to do more advanced stuff on your webpages, you would need another book covering JQuery, ReactJS and server-side programming using Node.js for example.
