    Hello,

I’ve tried migrating my site to a new host every which way I can and “Simple Custom CSS” does not work after the migration. This isn’t the first time I’m migrated to a new host and it has always worked in the past, but not anymore…

I’ve tried deactivating the plugin, deleting it and re-installing it and after all that, “Simple Custom CSS” looks like it should work, but NONE of the CSS customisations are applied to my site. All other pages/posts/plugins and theme options are working perfectly, it’s just “Simple Custom CSS” that’s broken and I can’t seem to fix it…

I would appreciate a quick response on this if you can. I’m happy to supply a login or anything else that’s needed.

    Thanks,

    Craig.

Don’t worry about this, I didn’t realise I could append my CSS to the bottom of my child theme CSS, which imports from the parent theme. This works fine for me.

    Thanks anyway.

    Hi Craig!

Thanks for the note. I’m sorry this isn’t working for you. Can you describe in more detail what wasn’t working about Simple Custom CSS?

Was the correct CSS showing up in the admin screen after the migration?

Also, was the link to the styles showing up in your <HEAD> (something like this: <link rel="stylesheet" id="sccss_style-css" href="http://yoursite.com/?sccss=1" type="text/css" media="all">) ?

Any input you can offer would be very helpful.

    Thanks again!

    Hi John,

The CSS was visible within SC CSS (admin screen), but it wasn’t applied to the site.

I’ve decided not to use your plugin any more, only in the sense that I didn’t realise I could still apply it within my child theme style.css, having used the import command from my parent theme. The idea is less plugins is less messy.

Whilst I have removed your plugin, I restored the backup enough times to realise if I reinstalled your plugin now, it would do the same thing again. If you want I can reinstall it and let you have a look on my test server if that helps you out. If you are interested, I just need to let another developer work on a plugin conflict first and then I can give you access. Don’t look at this on my account though.

    Cheers,

    Craig.

    Craig,

Thanks for the quick response! I’d really like to take a look, if only for the sake of ensuring the plugin won’t cause any issues on anyone else’s site. If you have the time to set this up, I’d truly be grateful.

Perhaps the best way to reach me is through Twitter. My username is johnregan3, and if you can Follow me, I’ll Follow you back, then we can DM the details.

I appreciate your offer. Thanks again!

    Hi John,

I think the other developer might take a day or 2, so if you want you can look now, I’ve created an account for you. Do you have an e-mail address I can send the details to you? Sorry I don’t use twitter, so that doesn’t work for me.

    Cheers,

    Craig.

    Hi John,

I’ve just installed your plugin again and it’s worked this time… sods law. The only subtle difference is, I used a different (later) backup this time, one that was taken without your plugin installed on the source system.

    Sorry I couldn’t help.

    Cheers,

    Craig.

    No worries Craig!

I’m glad it’s working for you now, and I appreciate your offer to help. If you need anything in the future, just ask!
