Node.js Buffer.readInt32LE() Method Last Updated : 13 Oct, 2021 Comments Improve Suggest changes Like Article Like Report The Buffer.readInt32LE() method is used to read a 32 bit integer from a buffer object at a given offset and returns the result in Little endian. Syntax: buffer.readInt32LE( offset ) Parameters: This method accepts a single parameter offset which specifies the position of buffer object. It represents number of bytes to skip before starting to read. The value of offset lies between 0 to buff.length - 4. The default value is 0. Return value: This method read an signed 32-bit integer at the specified offset in Little endian. Example 1: javascript // Node.js program to demonstrate the // buffer.readInt32LE() method const buff = Buffer.from([1, 2, 3, 4, 5]); console.log(buff.readInt32LE(0)); console.log(buff.readInt32LE(1)); Output: 67305985 84148994 Example 2: javascript // Node.js program to demonstrate the // bufferobj.readInt32LE() method const buff = Buffer.from([1, 2, 3, 4, 5]); console.log(buff.readInt32LE(4)) Output: buffer.js:831 throw new RangeError('Index out of range'); ^ RangeError: Index out of range at checkOffset (buffer.js:831:11) at Buffer.readInt32LE (buffer.js:984:5) at Object. (/home/cg/root/8545664/main.js:8:18) at Module._compile (module.js:570:32) at Object.Module._extensions..js (module.js:579:10) at Module.load (module.js:487:32) at tryModuleLoad (module.js:446:12) at Function.Module._load (module.js:438:3) at Module.runMain (module.js:604:10) at run (bootstrap_node.js:389:7) The above example shows the error because its parameters are not in the valid range. Note: To get the values in Little endian format you can use Buffer.readInt32BE() method. The above program will compile and run by using the node index.js command.
